Camp Snoopy will happen for the 1999 season, and will include a new 31-foot "family coaster." Announced this morning, the new area will appear across from Gemini. This brings the coaster count to thirteen, still more than anywhere in the world (despite Paramount's Kings Island claim that their Racer counts as two coasters).
It has also been officially announced that the Breakers addition will be called Breakers Tower. Construction is well ahead of schedule as of today.
Total capital improvement for the 1998 season: $25 million!
The Super Himalaya will be moved to the grassy area between Power Tower and Corkscrew. The Camp Snoopy area will be bordered by the entire Gemini midway from the railroad crossing to the Paddlewheel dock, and extend inland to the lagoon. No manufacturer has been named for the coaster at this time, though it will probably be a Vekoma stock model to be determined in the coming months.
