What happens in the amusement off-season, when parks decide what rides to nix and what new attractions to build?

To answer that question, The A.V. Club talked to Rob Decker, senior vice president of planning and design for Cedar Fair Entertainment. A 17-year veteran of Cedar Fair, Decker has worked on a number of projects all across the company’s holdings, including Valravn, a record-breaking dive coaster that hit Cedar Point earlier this spring.
