Cedar Point to observe Independence Day with patriotic fireworks display

SANDUSKY, Ohio, June 25, 2003 - Nothing says America more than baseball, apple pie and roller coasters! In honor of our country's Independence Day, Cedar Point amusement park/resort will light up the sky with a breathtaking fireworks display on Friday, July 4 at approximately 10 p.m. (In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be postponed until Saturday, July 5.)

This year's fireworks display will be produced by Zambelli Internationale, Inc., New Castle, Pa. Zambelli Internationale, Inc. is the oldest and largest American firm in both manufacturing and displaying fireworks with a history that covers 100 years and three generations of the Zambelli family. Following the fireworks display will be "Snoopy's Summer Spectacular," a nighttime spectacle of light and sound. "Snoopy's Summer Spectacular" will be shown at 11 p.m. on Friday, July 4 and is shown nightly at 10 p.m. (weather permitting) through Aug. 23.

Thrill-seekers will have yet another reason to celebrate with the announcement that Cedar Point, the park voted the "Best Amusement Park in the World" for five consecutive years, will now be open later for even more ride time! Beginning Monday, June 30, the park will be open one hour longer each evening. Cedar Point will remain open until 11 p.m. through Aug. 16. (On Friday, July 4, the park will remain open until midnight.)
