Parking tax may hit more pockets

The Morning Journal reports that Cedar Point might not be the only organization affected by the City of Sandusky's parking tax. The tax may also apply to Sandusky High School and a local church as well.

Sandusky Schools' board member Jeff Krabill told the Journal, "I would be surprised if a nonprofit could be taxed." He also noted the school is exempt from real property tax and personal property tax. "I just think there's an awful lot of unanswered questions right now."

Cedar Point is preparing for a legal fight. Public relations manager Janice Witherow told the Journal, "We do believe there are substantial constitutional and other legal grounds to challenge the city's tax on Cedar Point." Witherow also added that the Cedar Point does not have a firm schedule yet for when or where it would go to court.
