Cedar Point Live E wins IAAPA BIG-E awards

Cedar Point's Live Entertainment Department was honored by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions during IAAPA Orlando 2003, the association's 85th annual convention and trade show.

In the category "Best Female Performer," Erica Dorfler (Heart of Rock 'n' Roll) was the winner and Rebecca Jo Lightfoot (Heart of Rock 'n' Roll) was runner-up.

"Best Overall Production" for a show with a budget between $50,001 and $100,000 went to Cedar Point's Heart of Rock 'n' Roll. StarStruck! won "Best Overall Production" for a show with a budget between $100,001 and $200,000. America Rocks was the runner-up in "Best Overall Production" for a show with a budget between $25,001 and $50,000.

The BIG-E awards honor amusement facility entertainment, performers, and behind-the-scenes personnel who "make it happen" at attractions. Awards categories include Best Costumed Character, Best Show Performers, Best Live "Edutainment" Show, and Best Overall Production.
