Highlights from Cedar Fair, L.P.'s conference call regarding the company's acquisition of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.

  • Cedar Fair intends to operate Geauga Lake as a traditional family amusement park and not a theme park.
  • A number of attractions will be re-named and re-themed. Trademarks for Looney Tunes, Warner Brothers, and DC Comics are not being acquired.
  • Geauga Lake's Vice President and General Manager will be Bill Spehn. Spehn is currently the Vice President of Park Operations at Cedar Point.
  • Guests who have bought Six Flags Worlds of Adventure season passes will be able to receive a refund on their 2004 pass purchase or obtain a Geauga Lake season pass. Companies and organizations who have scheduled outings will be able cancel those events if they wish.
  • Cedar Fair season passes will not be valid at Geauga Lake in 2004.
  • Geauga Lake's web site will be www.geaugalake.com. The site will be active after the acquisition and have the latest news and updates.

  • No decision has been made if the Peanuts characters will be introduced at Geauga Lake.
  • No firm decision has been made on the current Six Flags Inn, though it will probably remain a seasonal operation.
  • Cedar Fair feels they can put some money into the campground and get a high return on investment.
  • Capital improvements at Cedar Point will not be affected by the acquisition of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.
  • No decision has been made on replacing Bill Spehn as Vice President of Park Operations at Cedar Point.
