Parking tax likely to lead new commission's agenda

The four men elected Tuesday to the Sandusky City Commission say they are ready to take their seats. The winners have spoken publicly against the city's 8 percent parking tax, approved by the commission in April. Cedar Point has protested the tax, claiming it is discriminatory because the park is the only business in town that regularly charges for parking.

That issue could be revisited as early as the commission's first regular meeting on Jan. 12.

"We are the four horsemen," commissioner-elect David Waddington told the Sandusky Register. "With a majority on the seven-member board, we can get something done."
