SANDUSKY, Ohio, June 4, 2004 - Family travelers have spoken and they chose Cedar Point as the "No. 1 Amusement Park in the United States" in the first ever "U.S. Family Travel Guide," published and distributed by Zagat Survey, in association with Parenting magazine. More than 11,000 avid travelers were asked to rate the best family-friendly attractions, lodging, restaurants, and amusement parks in the United States.  Cedar Point topped their list for amusement parks.  The Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort also ranked No. 6 in the "50 Overall Top-Rated Attractions" category.

Zagat Survey is the world's leading provider of consumer survey-based leisure content. Developed by families for families, the guide integrates everything a parent  needs to plan a U.S. vacation, with family-oriented ratings and reviews for more than 1,000 sites and attractions, including amusement parks, ballparks, historic sites and monuments, national parks, zoos and more. Sites and attractions were rated by Child Appeal, Adult Appeal, Public Facilities and Service.

With more than 250,000 surveyors, Zagat Survey ratings and reviews cover restaurants, hotels, nightlife, movies, music, golf, shopping and a range of other entertainment resources. "It is extremely gratifying to be rated so highly by families across America," said Lee Ann Alexakos, director of marketing at Cedar Point. "Our goal is to provide world-class entertainment and guest service each and every day of the summer."

Cedar Point's improvements for the 2004 season focused on families by expanding Lighthouse Point, an upscale camping complex that features cottages, cabins and luxury RV sites, and adding a brand new area to the Soak City waterpark called Splash Zone. The park also introduced three new live shows, three new restaurants and two new retail shops. In November, Cedar Point will debut Castaway Bay, a year-round indoor waterpark resort - perfect for families traveling any time of year.

With 67 rides, including 16 roller coasters, Cedar Point has more rides and more roller coasters than any park in the world. The park also features a wide variety of entertainment options the whole family can enjoy, including live shows, fun-filled areas just for kids, secluded spots for rest and relaxation and more.

Kids have four special areas at Cedar Point to call their own: Camp Snoopy, the Gemini Children's Area, Kiddy Kingdom and PEANUTS Playground. The award-winning live entertainment department features toe-tapping live shows that are a definite "must see."

Cedar Point is open daily through Labor Day, Sept. 6.
