SANDUSKY, Ohio, October 19, 2004 – The Caribbean meets Sandusky in this new resort destination for vacationers.  Cedar Point’s new Castaway Bay indoor waterpark resort will be a $22 million renovation to the park’s existing Radisson Harbour Inn property.  It will make its grand opening on November 5 and will be the famed amusement park’s first year-round attraction.

LOCATION:
Castaway Bay indoor waterpark resort will be located at 2001 Cleveland Road, at the entrance to the Cedar Point Causeway.

AMENITIES:
Rooms will feature a private deck or balcony, remote-control television, microwave, mini-refrigerator and coffee maker.  Also, many rooms will have access to adjoining rooms – perfect for extended families or large groups.  A 38,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, as well as an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool spa, waterfront sun deck, fitness center, game room and gift shop will appeal to vacationers.  Castaway Bay will also feature three restaurants:  T.G.I. Friday’s; Ebb & Eddy’s Island Sweets & Eats deli; and Mango Mike’s family buffet.  Other amenities will include a craft and child activity center, a 6,000-square-foot state-of-the-art arcade and space for birthday parties, group events and meetings.

CASTAWAY BAY WAVE POOL:
Guests can body surf in this huge 100,000-gallon wave pool.

RENDEZVOUS RUN WATER COASTER:
Thrill-seekers rejoice!  When you think of Cedar Point one thing comes to mind – roller coasters.  Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay indoor waterpark resort will feature a 35-foot-tall, 520-foot-long water coaster that uses water jets to propel riders uphill!

BODY SLIDES:
Swooping turns and a wild ending are what’s in store for guests daring enough to challenge Castaway Bay’s 12 slides, including three 35-foot-tall body slides.

LOOKOUT LAGOON FAMILY FUNHOUSE:
Get ready to get soaked!  Guests will be sure to get wet in this action-packed section of the park that is highlighted by a gigantic water-filled bucket that dumps more than 1,000 gallons of water every two minutes!

TODDLER’S TIDE POOL:
Younger guests will splash the day away in this special area that features a tandem slide, water pipes and sea creatures.

ACTIVITY POOL:
80,000 gallons of wet and wild attractions including floating sea creatures, basketball hoops and an adventurous pool crossing with hanging nets and floating treasure chests that tests skill and agility.
