Home to Cedar Point and a launching pad for the Lake Erie islands, Sandusky has long been a summertime draw.
But winters in this lakeside city about 60 miles west of Cleveland weren't nearly as enticing - until 2001, when Great Bear Lodge (now Great Wolf) opened a massive indoor water park, inviting Ohioans to shed most of the their clothes and take a dip.
