More taxes pitched for Sandusky

Elimination of an income tax credit, a higher dock tax and broader collections from the admission tax could help raise money to pay for Sandusky's operations and strategic plan, according to City Manager Michael Will.

Will's prior recommendations included eliminating the income tax credit, expanding the base of the admission tax to include parking and increasing the admission tax rate from 3 percent to 3.75 percent. However, the plan drew criticism from area businesses, including Cedar Point, whose officials have threatened legal action over a parking tax in Sandusky.
