SANDUSKY, Ohio, Oct. 20 - Firelands Regional Medical Center's annual drive-thru flu and pneumonia shots were Thursday, October 16, 2003. The shots were administered by Firelands Nurses and School of Nursing staff as well as students at the Cedar Point parking lot.

The Firelands team administered 863 flu shots and 55 Pneumovax (pneumonia) shots. Sandie McBride the coordinator of the event said, "This was by far the most shots we have administered in comparison to years past, and we still have one more day left." The Firelands Regional Medical Staff will return to the Cedar Point parking lot on Tuesday, October 21, 2003, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The cost of the flu shots are $15.00, and are covered by Medicare. Medicare patients must have their card with them. Pneumovax (pneumonia) vaccines will also be offered for $25.00 and are covered for Medicare patients. Vaccinations are subject to availability.
