“Our guests will love everything about this show from the costumes and lighting to the talented skaters. The show is about having fun during the summer, and that’s exactly what our guests are here to do,” said Marje Rody, vice president of live entertainment. “On a hot summer day, it’s the perfect way to take a break from the midway and come into the cool, comfortable atmosphere of the Good Time Theatre.”
“Snoopy’s Summer Vacation” takes the PEANUTS gang through a fun-filled journey replete with upbeat music and show-stopping skating elements. The show takes them to many popular summer destinations including the beach for some fun in the sun; a trip to Camp Snoopy for a marshmallow roast under the stars; a sporting event featuring Snoopy’s boxing talents; a rock concert with Snoopy and Schroeder in a dueling piano duet, and a spectacular 4th of July celebration featuring the entire skating ensemble.
“The technical side of this show is overwhelming,” explained Rody. “We are constantly monitoring the temperature of the ice and making sure our skaters have the best ice possible.” Overall, there are 400 lighting instruments and a state-of-the-art computer that controls the show’s audio. Six deck hands and 12 costume, lighting and sound technicians keep the show and its props/sets moving properly.
“Snoopy’s Summer Vacation” runs now through Monday, Sept. 5. (There are no shows on Wednesdays.)
Guests looking for a journey back in time can experience “Twistin’ to the 60’s,” located in the Palace Theatre.
