Murder mystery package, bonus weekends, boat show coming to Cedar Point

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Aug. 29, 2003 - Can you solve the case? Guests staying at Cedar Point's historic Hotel Breakers during Bonus Weekends, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6, 7, 13 and 14, and who reserve the mystery package, will have the opportunity to join an elite detective agency and solve a "Murder Mystery."

Aspiring detectives will arrive at the park on Friday and check into their room. Later that evening, guests will search the hotel and the deserted amusement park/resort for clues. Special informational meetings will also be held to aid in the case. Throughout the weekend, participants will gather facts, conduct interviews and share notes. Then, on Sunday morning, the mystery will be solved.

A mystery package includes a two-night stay at the Hotel Breakers; breakfast for two on Saturday and Sunday mornings; dinner for two on Saturday night; two admission tickets to Cedar Point; and participation in all of the mystery events. Guests looking to extend their summer a little longer will delight in the fact that Cedar Point and Soak City will be open for two Bonus Weekends. On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6, 7, 13 and 14, Cedar Point will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Soak City will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cedar Point will then re-open for HalloWeekends on Friday night, Sept. 19. Soak City will close for the season on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Returning to the Cedar Point Marina Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 14 will be the North American Sail & Power Boat Show. Sponsored by the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association (L.E.M.T.A.), this year's festivities will feature more than 700 sail and power boats, a flying boat, nautical accessories, brokerage pier, party barge and much more. Admission to the boat show does not include admission to Cedar Point. Boat show hours are from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
