Jim Brickman is best known for his original songs and chart-topping hits. Before that, however, he contributed to two of Cedar Point's most memorable advertisements.

The Grammy-nominated entertainer and composer arranged "Summertime Blues" and "Get to the Point," two popular ad jingles used by Cedar Point in the 1980's.

Brickman grew up just outside of Cleveland in Shaker Heights, Ohio. While studying classical piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music and business at Case Western Reserve University, Brickman started a 12-year career as a composer of jingles for ad agencies.

"I was in the jingle business till about [age] 30 ... and in Ohio I did the cover songs in the smoky bars and wrote jingles for ad agencies and commercials for the Ohio Lottery and Cedar Point. I did that for 12 to 13 years since the age of 18," Brickman recently told the Toledo Blade.

"As I was getting older, my songwriting changed, so I moved to California because I wanted to be surrounded by the opportunity in and around it and to meet the right people."

Brickman, best known for his original songs and chart-topping hits, has established an international reputation for his creative collaborations with many of the entertainment industry’s most gifted musical artists. His latest album, Jim Brickman: The Disney Songbook, brings an exciting new sound to the classic Disney musical library.
