Cedar Point will be one of several amusement parks featured in "Best of Theme Parks 2006" at 8 tonight on the Travel Channel.
Park spokesman Robin Innes believes Cedar Point was selected because of the 2005 Golden Ticket Awards, in addition to the park's overall entertainment package.
Cedar Point was voted the best amusement park in the world for the eighth consecutive year, and the 310-foot-tall Millennium Force received the Golden Ticket Award for the best steel roller coaster in the world.
"We are thrilled to be part of the program," Innes said. "These programs are broadcast nationally and internationally. That provides a great deal of exposure for the park. Plus, programs like these get people excited to visit the park."
Innes didn't know much about the content of the program because it is kept a secret until its debut, he said.
Cedar Point opens for the season May 6.
