From staff reports

SANDUSKY - Cedar Point's newest ride, Skyhawk, began running again Tuesday afternoon.

Park spokesman Bryan Edwards said a part has been replaced on the world's largest swing and guests are riding Skyhawk again.

The ride closed at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday -- the park's opening day -- because of mechanical problems. Cedar Point doesn't specify mechanical problems or parts replaced.

"Our maintenance guys really did a great job," Edwards said. "They worked as quickly as possible; did the safety checks and people are on it."

Cedar Point hopes the $6 million ride brings more traffic to Frontiertown.
