SANDUSKY - Cedar Point has revealed a clue behind the mystery site at the location of its former White Water Landing site -- but only because it's a requirement.

Parent company Cedar Fair L.P. submitted an application to the city for a building permit on Friday.

The permit is for a 600-square-foot electrical shed, for the "2007 Project," according to the application.

"I don't know what it could be used for, honestly," park spokesman Bryan Edwards said.

"It is part of the 2007 project. That is all I know," he said.

Cedar Point continues to be coy about its already-heralded "2007 Project" even after a fairly large clue was uncovered last month.

A large fenced-in area containing a blue tarp with something underneath was in plain view from Cedar Point Drive. A crane was also within the enclosed area.

A piece of red tubing frame, bearing a striking resemblance to the track of a coaster-like ride, was being unloaded from a tractor-trailer by the crane. The part was as long as the bed of the semi.

Edwards said Friday an electrical shed is a place to house electrical connections.

"But again, I'm not saying this electrical shed is electrical housing for a ride," Edwards said. "However, almost all rides at Cedar Point have electrical sheds."

The cost of the work covered by the application submitted Friday to the city was $30,000.

The impending retirement of Cedar Fair CEO and President Dick Kinzel after the 2007 season has those in the coaster world thinking big.

However, Kinzel might not retire as soon. Cedar Fair's recent purchase of Paramount Parks has prompted Kinzel to offer to stay on longer.

The world's first 500-foot coaster has been among the theories about what's in store for the fenced-in construction zone in the back of the park.
