SANDUSKY - Cedar Point gets numerous requests every week for its VIP program, which had a soft start in its inaugural year last summer.

Called the Millennium Package, this exclusive Very Important Person tour provides access to Cedar Point's rides and attractions without having to wait in line.

"People only have a limited time when they come to the park and they want to see and do as much as they can," said park spokesman Bryan Edwards. "They are willing to spend a little bit more to get more."

The Millennium Package is $350 per person with a minimum of four guests per party. It includes admission to Cedar Point, front-of-the-line access to all rides, complimentary on-ride photos, priority seating at the park's restaurants and shows plus a personal Cedar Point escort.

Edwards said the park doesn't give more than four or five VIP tours per day. Regular guests won't notice the tours or feel like every time they are about to get on a ride, a tour group gets to go before them, he said.

"Almost every day in July, we had one," Edwards said of the tours.

The Millennium Package allows guests to experience Cedar Point in one day, which usually is not possible, Edwards said.

Families coming from farther distances, such as Florida and North Carolina, are usually the ones buying the package, he said.

Famous guests aren't the only ones buying the packages, either, he said. This year, the park wants to make sure the average guest knows about the possibility.

Participants have the flexibility of planning their own tour, choosing which attractions, shows and restaurants they would like to visit. The front-of-the-line access begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until the park closes.

Guests are recommended to place their reservations at least one week in advance of their visit. Call 419-627-2225 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
