Live Web Cams

considering only 3 cars of WT's train is on the track, there is something going on there.

Were both sides of Sky Hawk running at the end of the season last year? I can't remember. It looks like just one side is running today on the camera.

Both sides were running this morning. Right after we rode, they went down for mechanical reasons on the right swing (if you're looking at Skyhawk from the midway). I didn't stick around long enough to find out what was up

Being able to remotely move the cams on PT has really opened up a whole new experience. I love the changing views. Today is nice because I see a great shot of TTD and am watching it live......waiting for a rollback.....hoping I'll be to CP soon!

Just took a glimpse of the live cams really quick to see the park lit up and see if there were any neat shots with what they had them pointed at. Looks like Luminosity was practicing or setting up lights/etc at some point. No activity really when I went to view the live stream other than the control booth had it's lights on inside.

Can't wait to see that show this year. it was fantastic last year, and sure it will be the same this year.

There appears to be a new arrangement for the side screens at Luminosity this year, unless that was the arrangement for the special events over opening weekend. Instead of having the four individual screens on each of the corner light structures there are two newly-built screens on either side of the main stage.

I agree the screen configuration looks different. I'll be watching the Luminosity stage closely. I'm a bit of a lighting nerd ;-).

One thing I did not think about till just now, is that the screen facing Good Time Theater had to be changed somehow since the projector was sitting at the top of the holding theater! Of course that could have been a simple matter of putting a pole or truss in that spot, but they probably took it as a chance to redesign some of the video systems.

Looks like Camera1 is focused on Raptor which just had an evac from the brake run and then transferred the trains off. Interestingly enough Gatekeeper stopped on the lift at the same time this happened though Gatekeeper seems to be cycling now.

I wonder why they would have to do an evac? I sure hope no one got hurt on the ride to cause that.

They let people out on the brake run if some technical problem prevents them from dispatching trains which prevents the train on the brake run from entering the station.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

That happened to me once on Maverick. Several trains sat stacked on the brake run for a long time (totally killing my early ride time) while mechanics climbed about. They finally let us out and we had to walk.

The same thing happened once at the launch which misfired and rolled back a total of four times. (Fun, right? Maybe once...) Trains were in the load/unload so they let us out to walk back from the bottom of the lift.

I have to leave the house no later than 6a to make early rides and when it gets ruined it sucks.

I hate to speculate like this but I'm curious.

The ride was on the final brakes and Gatekeeper stopped on the lift at the same time. It was very windy and it was coming off the bay which I know is a problem for Raptor.

When the wind limit is reached, does it simply alert the ride operators or does it actually stop the rides? That was my first thought. After it happened Rougarou and Raptor went down to 1 train operations and my first thought (again, this is 100% speculation) was that they wanted to make sure the trains were full and as heavy as possible as the trains were not always full before which would of course give the train more of an opportunity to valley.

There's a 99% chance I'm talking out of my a** and I fully acknowledge that, but I figured I'd throw that out to the people who are more knowledgeable on the subject than I am.

That's an interesting question. I know ski lifts that have automatic wind holds if a sudden gust comes up. It would make sense that there is either a warning or an automatic stop if the wind really starts blowing. Was it also raining a bit when Rougarou and Raptor went to one train operation? I've seen them do that in light rain to prevent any possible collision from a train slipping through wet brakes. If it was not raining, keeping the trains full due to wind makes sense.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Some rides have wind radars. Before taking a ride down, park operations must be contacted, and then park operations will then inform the appropriate rides for closure.

Yes, if the lines are not long enough to be able to fill all trains at full capacity, operations may take you down to 1 train so there is more weight and the chances of valleying are slim to none.

Now, based on the 3 webcams, it seems odd that there would be only 1 operating coaster in them. The cam pointing at TTD is showing 4 coasters and none are operating. I am assuming that the webcams are there to show us how much fun we could be having. Right now, they are showing me that I would be lucky to be riding one coaster. I'm sure others are operating. Would be a good idea to reposition them.

There is three Firetrucks by hotel breakers on camera 3 right now.

TheCedarpointguy

Just saw that as well. Water on the asphault too.
One just left.

And all I wanted to do was watch TTD.

I wonder if the hotel caught fire.

TheCedarpointguy

Whatever it was appears to be resolved. Only one truck left.
