Where'sMyMack... You must not have got the memo that you must never upset or deride the B&M gods on this site. B&M is all knowing, infallible and powerful.

There is no use in desiring a new cutting edge design or technology, especially at the SELF-proclaimed 'Rollercoaster Capital of the World'. (or Sea World Parks)

B&M is all there is in the name of so called capacity and uptime (especially since capacity is so vital when there are 17 other coasters to choose from).

As long as you can marathon the box tracks, the B&M gods will just shine down on cedar fair and all will be glorious and good.

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

Uh huh.. And who on here has that viewpoint? Oh, so it's you? Gotcha. You could've just said that was your opinion from the start.

Then again, it is B&M. Which i don't get why North America is just in love with them?? I prefer the wild, sexy, crazy girl like intamin, Mack, RMC, S&S to start building actual legit rides at CF parks.

B&M hate is something I will never understand. I have yet to ride a B&M that didn't excite me, except for Mantis, because of other reasons.

Fury, Leviathan, Gatekeeper, Banshee... "Not legit rides?" I can't even comprehend that. The word jaded comes to mind.

Balls to the wall intensity is not everything.

Well thank the "B&M gods" that you don't run a theme park, or it would fail in less than a year. While an opinion can technically not be wrong, yours is the closest I've seen in a while.

^^ How come Rougarou isn't on this list?

If you are asking me, I just forgot about it.

^^^ Especailly considering that the newest B&Ms (Fury and Banshee) seem to be much more intense than the infamous "forceless" new B&Ms.

As for the other companies, I'd love to see CP get one. Maybe after Valravn. But B&M seems to be improving, and hopefully they'll continue to improve.

One more thing - B&M is taking a bit more risk than the have in the past. They just put out their first magnetic launch coaster, which is also one of their newest style of coaster. Not as groundbreaking as some other companies, but still progress.

... not intrigue [sic] on this cookie-cutter layout of a ride

Sorry, I'm having trouble finding the dive coaster that was created using the same cookie cutter anywhere in Cedar Point's market area...

Which I don't get why North America is just in love with them??

Well, I can't speak for all of North America, but I'd guess corporate America likes a company that delivers a reliable product proven to be popular with the public.

No. It's just a reliable company that makes popular (with the public) rides.

...the SELF-proclaimed 'Rollercoaster Capital of the World'.

He posts, on a website that proclaims itself Home to Cedar Point's Biggest Fans. What is the technical definition of the world's roller coaster capital, of what makes a Cedar Point fan one of the park's biggest fans? Hyperbole has a role in marketing.

My. Aren't you clever.

Am I the only one who thought this was downright hilarious?
Also I just rode Diamondback and Banshee for the first time today and was completely blown away from the airtime on DB and how forceful Banshee was. B&M is definitely not lame or boring by any means.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of those coasters last year during ACE's Spring Conference.

I think anybody on pointbuzz that thinks B&M is that bad, is either trolling or has never ridden a B&M.

While I enjoy B&M's rides (and Gatekeeper is great fun), I'd love to see another Intamin coaster. Millennium Force, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster are just fantastic, each in their own unique way. Those three rides have served the park very well, even with whatever problems they may have had.

I look forward to experiencing Valravn, and I'm glad to see CP add another style of coaster to their lineup.

Next time I'm in Ohio (hopefully next summer), I'll need to stop by King's Island as well. Haven't been there since 2007.

Millie is one of my very favorites, and Maverick and TTD are in my top 17 :-) I just can't worked up over which companies a business buys products from. A park adds a coaster, I'll ride it, I'll decide if I like it or not regardless of the manufacturer.

On my recent Very Short Visit to Great America in Gurnee, I rode X-Flight and was underwhelmed: it's a slow. lumbering, uninteresting ride. If I'm at the park with someone and they want to ride and the line is under 20 minutes, I'll ride it again; otherwise, no thanks.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

B&M builds some great coasters that I thouroughly enjoy riding. Intamin builds some great coasters that I thouroughly enjoy riding. That being said I find it laughable the hatred for Intamin, and absolute love of anything and everything B&M that certain enthusiast crowds have...

noggin's avatar

Might be more accurate to say "certain enthusiasts" have a love or a hatred of various companies.. In my experience, most enthusiasts are not overly brand loyal.

Man the announcement can't come soon enough... this discussion is like offseason on a football forum...

With all the hate XS Nightclub has given dive coasters in general on here (Calling them boring, forceless, the "same thing as Rougarou") I think he is just trolling at this point.

The most dangerous enemy is the one you don't know you have.

I love reading all the "if I ran a park" posts.

Amusement parks are a business. So many enthusiasts forget the parks don't cater to them but the other 3mil people that attend them on a yearly basis. Why is CP going away from installing unproven technology? Probably because parks that do get burned more times then not. I still have friends who would be considered GP (maybe once a year visits) say to me.. "Every time I go ride X is always down" GP notices poor quality and downtime just as much as we do.

it may be hard to believe but reliability and up-time are things parks look at when installing a new ride. Which is hard to argue against B&M's record when it comes to quality, safety and minimal downtime. In case you haven't noticed Intamin hasn't done much U.S. business in that last few seasons, there is a reason for that. When you're investing 15-30 million dollars in a new attraction, sometimes, a lot of the time its best to go with proven technology from an industry leader. Smart decisions are making Cedar Fair a lot of money right now. Recording breaking money!

Anyone claiming that B&M coasters are boring, force less, and lame are on the same level of ridiculousness as those who claim all Intamin coasters are junk. I'll easily add Gatekeeper to the list of Diamondback, Banshee, Leviathon etc... as B&M coasters that are great rides. As an added bonus, Gatekeeper is not only a good coaster, but it's also one of the best looking I've ever seen in person.
