CP 2017?

This is practically a routine every year. Someone always starts a thread about a year two years ahead of the current one and it is always closed due to "too early for speculation".

1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling

The first time I went into the ballroom for training back in May, I was surprised, it's a nice space up there. Looking away from the stage, towards the main midway was like a step back into the time of the ballroom's hay day, really cool

It seems there's a certain segment of enthusiasts that just won't be happy until there is a dark ride in the arcade. Some of us still use the arcade just as it is.There are plenty of other places to put a dark ride when the time comes. As far as 2017 goes I'm still busy trying to make the best of what's left of 2015. We have three more weekends and squeezing what I can out of that is what I'm going to worry about.

Lol fortunately. training is different this year now. No more obnoxious videos from the past. They're more modern. Still a bit corny, but at least not dated.

^Definitely corny, but not really old. TwistedWicker77 do you currently work at the park?

Yes I do :)

I work at CP as well :) Hello fellow employees!

Having just added the elevator to the ballroom makes it a viable option for entertainment now that it is ADA compliant-ish... I would say that the arcade generates more revenue than you realize. A new dark ride would likely require a new structure. We now return you to speculating about 2016...

My current fixation involves the chunk of land that will remain open after the new coaster is built that lies between the new dive loop and the road. It strikes me that this area combined with even a slight realignment of the road in the future could make a pretty good size new midway area bounded by the road, the new coaster, the train yard and celebration plaza. Not necessarily for 2017 but that chunk of land just makes me think that it was left open for some future plan.

They would have to tear down Cedars, and I can easily see a good sized GCI woodie in that area.

CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium

As much sense as that makes due to the quality of sure a ride, will Cedar Point ever build non-record-breaking, non-first-ever, coasters anymore?

And I hate MillFlyer lap bars.

Pipe scream... Wicked Twister... Maverick... That's about it. And I found the MillFlyers to be very comfortable on Thunderhead, Apocalypse, Lightning Racers and Wildcat, so I don't know where you're coming from.

I am of the school that that coast will someday have a nice tower overlooking the bay.

Technically even Wicked Twister was a record breaker.

Wicked Twister - Worlds tallest fastest inverted impulse coaster!

Believe me, I want to love MillFlyers because they track beautifully. But that large heavy lap bar ends up punching me in the gut, right where the seatbelt buckle sits.

I would have a similar problem with B&M hypers if the lap bar was any heavier. I much prefer the mid-thigh bars on PTC or Intamin.

Premier is probably the worst lap bar I've experienced. (Looping wooden hyper coaster aside)

I would be very interested in seeing how they incorporate the Cedars area with the park considering the plcement of the marina entrance and a possible re route of perimeter road.

Sorry, my bad. I am usually very bad at remembering that stuff, but I'll try to remember in the future.

About this GCI woodie, they could pull a Ravine Flyer 2 and have it go OVER Perimeter Road. Imagine driving to Breakers or Soak City (Magnum Entrance Anyone?) They could have some twisting in the old Cedars spot and have it come back over and finish. They could also put a small but intense/airtime packed woodie like White Lighting at Fun Spot, GCI can be very flexible in their design so anything is possible!
