Yes, you must be a AAA member. And yes, you must still purchase a ticket if you have a season pass. The entire park will be open 11am-7pm.

My wife and I will be there on May 7!

AHH!!! I've been waiting for this to come up! Get your tickets soon, there's only 22 thou. avalible. My brother works in AAA's print shop and I've known about this since January. He is also snatching up rare hard to get MF stuff for me such as advertisements that only ticket brokers and travel agents can get. The only drawback is for the season pass members (although I'm getting the ticket for free). See you guys on the 7th!

Wait I'm confused, all of the rides (including MF) will be running? And can I buy a ticket here in Pittsburgh? Thanks for your help!
22 for members and 22.50 for non members. This day will be just as packed as opening day.
Actually,I just saw the post that said 22000 were available. How does this number relate to the typical number of people in the park-is it like the friday night on halloweekends? How many were estimated to be there then?

I would say a typical busy Saturday in July is somewhere between 50,000 - 70,000. But that's just a guess.

I think the parks capacity is around 35,000. Jeff should know the actual number.
Is this the travel AAA or a different AAA?
If you are a member of AAA or have a family member work for them (such as I), then you can purchase them. You are a member if:

A: you have a sticker on the bumper of your car in the shape of an oval with "AAA" on it or...

B:You have a little blue card that say's American Automobile Association with a valid date 05/07/00 or greater on it.

C: a family member that may work for AAA can get them for you, or a someone you know that is a member.

Is it only the Cleveland area? Or can I buy them here in Detroit?
Wow this sounds great! Does any one know for sure if Millennium Force will be open? I would hate to make the trip up there and Millennium Force not be open.
This is a cool offer and all, but I already got my season passes, for the family, and to pay $22 dollars for each person one week before CP opens, I guess I am going to pass on this one! But I will be there opening day! We all need to pick a spot and a time to meet!

A busy day is around 40K, I think. I'm sure it's been higher.

That park's capacity is significantly higher than 35,000. I watched a Q&A session with Richard Kinzel at the City Club in Cleveland a few years back. While being intentionally vague, he did mentioned attendance had been to 60,000.

I think park capacity was covered in another thread.

Given that...
o Annual attendance is around 3,500,000 (per AB)
o The season is about 180 days (per CP)
That give an AVERAGE DAILY attendance of about 19,450 people.

Anybody who has been to the park on various days knows that the actual park population varies significantly between the busiest days and the least-busy days. Because many days are significantly less-busy than average, it follows that the crowded days must also be significantly busier than the 19,500 average. I'd say peak attendance in excess of 60k is not out of the question.
