Alcohol permitted in queues this year.

Carding kids doesn't matter because well....when I was under 21...we got it in anywhere and everywhere.
Doesn't matter.

This wouldnt work at Cedar Point.

My wife and I are 33 and 31, respectively. 2 seasons ago, I was purchasing us a couple beers; my wife had her purse/ID in the trunk of the car. Granted, my wife and I "look young" for our age, but the point is, they would not, for any reason, let me buy 2 beers without 2 valid IDs. Not only that, but the person with the "other ID" had to be standing there. So, we had to hike back out to the car to get her ID. I was pretty impressed with the employee, actually; he took this very seriously.

I'm also curious about the validity of this thread; I dont see a policy change anywhere on the website.

More than likely I will not be having any beer in line; however it's nice to know I could. For the people who are afraid all hell will break loose, if it does I'm sure they will change the rule back next year.

A couple years ago I decided to drink two beers and ride the tea cups at Busch Gardens. I did not spew, but that was last time I will do that.

This is one of the best threads yet, entertaining and educational. Even if the title is a hoax, it's still fun.

I agree that some people will abuse this and get wasted in line...

But I guess the park could get more money.

Whatthe hell are you talking about? Based on what? Did I miss somethingwhere it was said you could buy beer in more locations and for lessmoney? Have customers been saying, "Oh, we'll buy more beer if we cantake it in line?"

No, what happened is that someone, somewhere, realized that they were inconveniencing guests, period.

But you couldn't, and won't be able to, buy it from CP. Your post is irrelevant.

If they arn't going to "enforce" the rule of no drinking in lines- people will drink in line. I'm sure when I go (if at all this year-mainly because of gas prices), I'll buy a beer before going into the line (which I don't normally don't buy beer at the park..so there you go..more money for the park). I'm not saying everyone will get drunk in line- I'm saying some people... will. ...and I basing this on some of the other messages in this thread. And I was actually at Kings Island a few summers ago with my friends and one of them had beer spilt all over their leg while waiting in line. Normally, if I can remember right, they have an area where you can buy beer but you have to stay in that area/patio until your finished. This wasn't the case and the guy had it in line and spilt it on my friend.

And I think you need to calm down. It seems almost everytime I come on here and read you responses to messages- they are always negative. Maybe I've just noticed it towards mine but I'm getting sick of it.

Don't tell me to calm down, sonny. You can't tell my tone from a forum post.

So how will people be getting drunk from taking one beer into an hour long queue?

^ How many beers did they have prior to the "one beer" they took into the line?

Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!

You know I was waiting for people to say no longer do I need to bring my camelbak in to Cedar Point.

^^ ... And telling them they can't bring it into line will only make them chug it right there at the entrance. Trust me - that's what happens 99.9% of the time. They'll be just as drunk, just without the bottle. Get over it, guys. As soon as you are directly affected by someone bringing alcohol into line, and it wasn't something that would have happened anyway if that person was told that they couldn't bring it in line, then you can complain. Until then you really have no idea what the effects of the new policy will be. Neither do I, but I can bet that most of you are overacting waaaaaay too much.

I realize it does sound crazy, Pete. However, I am a little on the odd side! :) I know smoke is more hazardous to my health. But I don't even like being around people drinking because it makes me gag. I don't care if someone drinks. That is their choice. Just as long as they keep it away from me.

Years ago, when it was allowed in line, I got behind a couple who were drinking. As soon as I noticed, I stopped and let people ahead of me to leave some distance.

^ You must be a lot of fun.

Actually, Jerry's not bad and is a ton of fun to ride Magnum with.

But if you're looking for an old drunk, then no, I guess Jerry wouldn't be much fun for you.

Goodbye MrScott

drunkinmonkey your pretty brave for telling the webmaster of this site to calm down. he doesnt only put in negative comments on things. he puts his oppinion on things which is what forums are for.

A little off subject, but can someone tell me how many places
sell beer at CP and where they are. I don't drink a lot
but I do enjoy the occasional beer or 2 and I've honestly
never had any while I was there.

The places off the top of my head are:

Hurricane Hannah's
Game Day Grill
Red Garter Saloon
Last Chance Saloon
Golden Palace Theater

These are in the park. Most of the out of park restaurants have full service bars as well.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Thanks Pete. I might actually have me a beer while I'm
waiting in line for Millennium Force this year just to
piss off some of these closed minded people on here.

I'll think I'll have me the biggest beer I can find while waiting in line with my daughter for Gemini Jr. And I'll use my cell to take pix of all the reactions of the other parents in line. ;)

Are you crazy? She'll want to smoke them all. Do you know how much name-brand cigs are running these days?

Sheesh.
