Calypso and Turnpike Cars land

I have a similar problem when someone refers to his or her favorite sports team as "we". I always say "they", even though it may be my home team or my beloved alma mater.
And I live in Columbus, Ohio where we live and breathe for that team.

Well the Pittsburgh Steelers considers the team and all the fans as one Steeler's Nation so they encourage us to say "we". :)

Also I have seen multiple people say "we" and/or "get" on multiple different threads. So there's really no point of arguing about this NOW. Let's please get back to the topic.

No one's upset. But no one who buys a ticket into an amusement park "gets" one of the roller coasters.

It's something that you're getting to use. Hence you get it. Do you get this?

I personally do not think we will be getting a Dive coaster. However, If we were to refer back to the memo provided by the Register (and grant that it is true), the budget on there just seems too inexpensive for features like this. Not to mention, an outdoor glass floor bridge (especially in the shaded Turnpike Car area) just sounds like it would become very grimey rather quickly.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall Carowinds (in their winter "chill" out) saying that their original plan was to have a glass bridge for Fury's underground dive element. Then they said it was to high maintenance so they got rid of it.

By "getting" a roller coaster, nobody thinks that they are becoming the legal owner of a thrill ride. Instead, they mean that there will be one installed somewhere that they will be able to visit (generally at their home park), and thus they will get to enjoy the ride.

Personally, I talk about Carowinds getting an awesome B&M giga and Holiday World an equally awesome B&M LSM wing coaster. That's just my preference, though.

I don't. Because you don't "get" to use the ride, you're paying to ride the rides in the park.

It's pretty sad that you care about this.

Considering I'm a seasonal ride host, does that mean my statement still stands, since I could have the opportunity to "use" (operate) the ride? So many "quotations" for such an odd pet peeve :)

Yes. I remember hearing that Carowinds had been planning on using a glass bridge but with the final plans they ultimately decided not to.

Settle down, kids. No one is "upset" or has a "peeve," I just think the choice of words is interesting. The sense of ownership amuses me.

RCMAC, i have also taken that into consideration but if Cedar Fair is sticking to B&M then I don't understand why it would take so long to build. I'm saying this because of how fast B&M can build their coasters. So what I am thinking is there is a slight possibility that it won't be a B&M. That's of course if a coaster is going there, which in my opinion think there will be.

Maybe Cedar Point is giving Intamin another shot, but only after Intamin pinky swore that this time they might get it right for the most part... 😜

(Disclaimer: not trying to start a B&M vs Intamin debate here. I'm a huge fan of Intamin's coasters but would be more than reluctant to buy from them if I ran a park...)

ROUNDABOUND.

I'm failing to see the interest or amusement of what this topic has become, unfortunately. So back on topic we go?

^^ Just to be clear, you're staying off topic for yet another note, and because you are not personally interested or amused by the tangent, you decide that its time for everyone to get back on topic.

Did I get that right?

Not in this case, of course, but one of the things I enjoy about both 'buzzes is how conversations can go off topic and to some awfully interesting places.

What else would Cedar Point get from Intamin besides a woodie? They have quite a lot from them. Don't get me wrong, I'm open to the idea. I am just not sure what else they have that Cedar Point would want, coaster wise. On the other hand, the only two types from B&M that they dont have are a flyer and a dive coaster. If Cedar Fair does indeed not like flyers, then their only real option from them left would be a dive coaster(though they do have regular sit-down loopers which I dont see as likely).

Or a giga. A dive coaster would seem to bring something a bit more original, but you never know what interesting elements they might put in.

Well seeing as they have a giga coaster, I doubt that they would build another even from another manufacturer, but anything is possible. Plus it would be really hard to make room for another coaster of that size. That would take an extreme amount of creativity, not saying they couldn't do it.

If they are going with another coaster ( and I say "if" because corporate is going in a different direction than the have in the past) It's going to be something unique to the market, and not just another "record breaker". Bear in mind also that they have been seriously involved with dark rides at several of their other parks the last few years, both new and refurbished. The days of adding to the "steel forest" every other year may have come to an end.

I think multiple attractions are going into all this cleared space over the next few years. If they do put in a new coaster, I think it would be after Cedars gets demolished. I think they could put the station in the former GTT spot and the coaster could go over (or under!) the road and do it's course over there. Then a family ride or dark ride could go in Dodgems former spot while Celebration Plaza is converted into a bigger and better venue. I also think the Blue Streak midway will be extended and come out on the side of Celebration Plaza. And as part of an effort to keep foot traffic out of Celebration Plaza, I could see that midway being closed off and routing the foot traffic down the new midway or to the marina gate path then down to the new midway.

Edit: After looking at the aerial map, I don't think that would fit. But I still think they could do those things within the space being cleared, just some locations not being what I said.
