Castaway Bay

Why did CP use money to make another resort. They already have tons of them. What's the point. *** Edited 7/15/2004 4:22:33 PM UTC by thestrongestknight***
Actually they're just adding a waterpark on to the Radisson

oh. that makes sence then

I would like to have a battle of the wits with you...but you seem unprepared.

The waterpark should actually make them a lot more profit. Now with CP running all year, they can have customers coming in all the time. This is going to be a great place for people living in this area, that don't want to travel more the 10hrs to get to a great waterpark in the winter.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Yeah, why build rooms when you can fill them all and get money from people most of the season? And then why would you make one of your hotels a year-round attraction instead of letting it sit idle? That's crazy talk!

Isn't Great Wolf or Great Bear or whatever its called like 10 minutes from CP?

ROUNDABOUND.

Yes the Great Bear or Wolf lodge is about 10 minutes from CP. I sure hope to God that with the expansion of the Radisson with Castaway Bay that they put more entrance doors on that hotel. We had a room on the fourth floor so we had to walk all the way to the end of the hotel get on the elevator (which was making unpleasant noises) and then walk all the way back down the hall towards the lobby as our room was almost right above the lobby on the fourth floor. That hotel's walking is absurd.

I wonder how competition between the two will affect pricing?
And now that Kalahari is going in, It should make for a great price war!!

Ahhhhh C.P. My Happy Place!
what is Kalahari? Its sounds really familiar but i can't paint a picture. Can anybody explain?
Yeah, maybe this will keep some of the resturant's on the causeway open for longer into the year. I went down there in Feb. and half the resturants were closed and the area was dead.

Half the restaurants don't close in the winter. Contrary to popular belief, people actually live in Sandusky year-round. On a typical Saturday evening in February, you'll find an average of a 15 minute wait at most eating establishments on Rt. 250.

Ya, but does Great Bear and Wolf Lodge have a water coaster? Yes, I've heard the commercials for those places, but are they as big as Castaway Bay is gonna be? I'm not sure, so I'm asking.

I heard that the Great Wolf Lodge will be expanding their waterpark, I could only imagine how scared they are now. I also heard that the Radisson will change it's name to Castaway Bay, anyone hear more?

No one is scared of anything. There's more than one of these year-round parks because there's room for competition. These places aren't going to suffer. The market is far from saturated.

Whenever ive looked at the Great Bear Lodge, it looks anything but deserted. I think that a little competition will be good for both Castaway Bay and Great Bear Lodge.

Kalahari is a indoor waterpark/convention center they are building on 250. It is supposed to have avery large water coaster going in it. From what I can remember ...It is supposed to be bigger than both combined(CB&GW) . But don't quote me!
Its been awhile since I seen the report on the Toledo news.
I do know the construction site is huge. They are also offering condo's.

Why did they change the Great Bear Lodge to Great Wolf Lodge? I know it wasn't the wolf lodge last year and a little bit of this year. I know that there's a Great Wlof Lodge in michigan, did they change that to Great Bear Lodge?
Not sure why they changed Great Bear to Great Wolf... maybe it was a upper management decision to make all of their waterparks similar??? Anyway, all I can say is thay year-round profits for CP will help them immensly. I cant wait to check it out!
I'm not sure how many Sandusky residents will make much use of Castaway, seeing as how you have to stay at the hotel to use the waterpark. I doubt the park will be worth at least $200 a night just to play in the water. *** Edited 7/30/2004 2:53:42 AM UTC by shwilson24***
