Closing Day

Yeah, that's my outlook too! I'd like to get one last chance for Windseeker too. I've not seen many comments, but regardless of past weather, has it been shut down for the season?

Keep passing the fun along!

Tony did tweet a picture of Windseeker running on Thursday. I don't know why though.

It was running yesterday.

That's good news! I normally prefer coasters, but this year Windseeker & MaxAir made my list of great 'flat' rides. I had been reluctant of anything spinning for quite some time, and these rides proved I can handle it(fast rotating movement)!

Keep passing the fun along!

Also, your hyperbole doesn't really equate.

I would hardly call it hyperbole. I bet if there was a big, huge, credible poll taken (and not just from here), you'd be in the minority on this one ...

People may turn their lights on after xmas, but you don't see them out caroling.

No matter, you can't have it both ways ... Stale is stale. If you're not feeling all "spooky" 2 days after Halloween to the point where you can't enjoy props, decorations or people running after you with chainsaws, then *how* can you be feeling glad tidings of comfort and joy 2 days after Christmas - to the point where you can still enjoy lights and a tree ... Or carolers for that matter.

Apparently CP isn't thinking along the same lines, because if they were, I doubt they would be messing around with the Halloween stuff on the final Saturday either, not just Sunday.

I'm curious if you have any dimmer switches in your house, because you appear to look at things as being either on, or off.

But I digress, please continue to define to other people what they can and cannot feel.

It is so fun on the last weekend! Our family and coaster group always go on opening weekend and closing weekend!!!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

After Christmas I will leave my lights up and enjoy looking at any that I pass when I am out and about but I'm not going to make a point of taking a drive just to look at them. Just as a large amount of people may enjoy the theming in the park after Halloween but how many are going to go through the haunts? Will it be a big enough draw for attendance to justify paying the screamsters? It looks like CP doesn't think so.

They must think it justifies it for Saturday, though ??

Maybe it's not a money issue and more that they just don't want bothered with it ... Because when you do the math - even without knowing the exact figures - what they would have to pay the extra help (screamsters) would almost certainly be offset by the attendance it would draw.

Why doesn't the park just thread the needle and leave the Halloween decorations up year round?

lolol..good deflection :P

Are there any amusement parks that do have a year round kind of Halloween theme, aside from like the Disney Haunted Mansion, etc?

It would be pretty cool if CP kept one of the Haunted Houses open year round.

You sure you'd be able to enjoy it if they did ?? After all, Halloween is only 1 day out of the year ! ;)

Halloween may be one day out of the year n t many of us could enjoy it all year long. Sadly as of late it's become almost a Hallmark holiday

So far closing day is looking sunny, yet kinda frigid.

Then by all means, please show your work. ;)

But seriously, don't bother. The park is in a much better position to determine whether or not it makes fiscal sense to have the Halloween attractions open 2 days after the holiday, on a day that even with decent weather, will mostly attract people going to the park for closing day, rather than haunts.

Businesses, especially ones as well run as CF, tend to prefer making profit whenever they can (they're crazy like that). If they thought the extra expense that comes with opening the haunts would be justified by whatever profit bump they project would result, they'd be opening the haunts.

I believe I remember seeing advertising for Halloweekends that said through Nov. 1st. I'm sure many must have seen the advertising, why is it surprising that they are doing what they advertised? Saturday is the last day for Halloweekends, enjoy the rides and cheap food on Sunday.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

As far as food deals,

the dining plan now includes a lot of different items at the stands, depending what they need to clear out, we got walking tacos last weekend. Got 2 for 1 on souvenir cups with all day soda, too

BEWARE of the replacement chicken tenders, make sure they are the normal ones, as the replacements are school cafeteria quality- horrible!

Maybe some kind of funhouse with the possibility of being strartled by people in unexpected places would work. I'm sure there's some way to make it not specificly Halloween themed but give a similar experience to a haunt. I could see something like that possibly working.
