Couple questions...

This is my first year and I have just a couple random questions:

1.) I know the bathrooms in the commons dorms are community bathrooms... does this mean guys and girls share the bathrooms? and are the showers in the bathroom seperate, or a big room with a bunch of shower heads like in high school??

2.) When do you get your uniforms? and how do you get them?

3.) How can you cook food if your staying in the dorms? Such as getting water for ramen noodles.

4.) Do employees get to go into the park on their day(s) off? Such as if family or friends come to the park and your not working on that day.

Hey, I think I can answer your questions.

#1. There are Girls only and Guys only shower rooms in Commons. There are also divider walls in the shower area, so no one can see you. (with a curtain)

#2 When you process in you will be given a map as to where you need to go. But you will get 2 pairs of uniforms from wardrobe on your process in time.

#3 You can bring a low voltage microwave and cook your microwaveable food. As for getting water, there are drinking fountains in the halls you can get water from to prepare your noodles.

#4 Yes! But no line jumping! Lol

#3- There are also microwaves available in the employee store as well as the lobby areas of most of the individual buildings, so it's not completely necessary to bring your own.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

#2. To get your nametag and uniform you have to go to training. I believe there were like 4-6 classes that took me 2 days. Besure you get to your training classes 5-10 min early because I was late 1 min after 5PM and they wouldnt let me in. Do not trust on the bus this summer!! Get to the bus stop an Hr before your class/shift!
Go to Wardrobe ASAP!!!! I had to wait over and hr and a half in line because I came at 12 when it opened at like 8. You can also buy sweatpants, coats, sweaters, ect. they are pretty expensive but they do take it just on your paycheck. Get it early because you will be needing at least a coat!

So I don't get my uniform the day i process in? I process in on the 5th. and my classes are all scheduled for the 7th, theres 3 of them i have to go to.

There is a link in Jobnet that explains how to process in.

You first head to HR, there you turn in your paperwork and get your ID. Then you head to either Wardrobe or your department location (rides and sweeps all report to Park Op)

When you get to your department they will go over what your job will be and give you a schedule for your first real day of work (usually the next day.)

When you get to wardrobe you will head in and they will pick your uniforms for you. You try them on and when you are to their satisfaction they will sign everything over to you.

If you are in housing you then head to housing to get your key and to be assigned a room.

After you are finished you are free to enjoy the rest of the day in the park, or to move into housing.

Your training is scheduled in advance, it may or may not be the same day you process in. You show up for your training classes and at the end of the class you receive your name tag.

I'm a little confused on scheduling my processing. I already scheduled the training things and the second half of processing, but how do I schedule the first part? Or do we just show up anytime on the day we process in?

On your jobnet, you pick a time from any on the day you're supposed to process in on, and you go at that selected time.

Dang. She told me I'm supposed to process in on April 29th, but on the list of times for processing that day isn't even on there. I'm assuming it would be because HR is closed on the weekends and the 29th is a Sunday

Any day that is listed you can process in, even if it is earlier than your listed start date. You just won't start working till your listed start date, unless they need extra people. :)
