Does anyone have some good photos of the railroad, mainly good shots of the engines?

I am working on an image bank in Yahoo! groups. You can find it here:

DelSun

You will need to join Yahoo! groups, which is free. I have a Cedar Point section there, with some CP & LE RR pics, and I have some more to add later. There is a good picture of poor Albert in his forced retirement.

I like Geroge R better, it's got a different tone to the whistle. It's not as high pitched as the others, but it's got a metal cab so it doesn't run on hot days.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

There are other issues than it's metal cab that keeps George in the yard.

Isn't George so heavy...that it can damage the track sometimes? I didn't see them use George at all in the 2003 season. The used it several times in 2002 because I heard that Myron was broken and they needed to run two trains. How come some days they only run one train and other days they use two?
I seen George out a few times in 2003. When I did though, it seemed like it was more towards the last half of the season.

It deponds on the time of the year. Usualy when they are only open till 8pm, they only have one train going.

I don't have any pics of Judy that I know of. I will have to look at all my pics from the years.

Yeah, he was out a few times last year. It was always somthing to talk about amongst the employees who break back in the Stockade since they go by every few minutes. George is much larger than the other two, and is used in moderation for various reasons.

Maybe some pics of George. Also, if you can find some, I would like some historic photos of the railroad from construction to today if you have any please. Reason, I would like to make a history collage/album about the railroad.

That being, the track gauge is differant.

You're wrong.. The Disney train is still in the engine house.

Consider yourself corrected Dave... ;)

This thread has sparked my curiousity, and I've always been an avid fan of railroads. My question is how many "working" locomotives are left??? I know they had 5 or 6 back in the 60's from Roose's collection, but now I only know of the Jenny K, George R, and the now defunct Albert on the siding. (when did Albert retire?) Any advice would be appreciated. Im working on a new book about amusement parks and would like to include this in my research.

Thanks

I believe this will be the 3rd year of Albert's retirement. They stopped using him because of the new inspection requirements on riveted boilers, which were prompted by the explosion of a steam-tractor boiler here in Ohio about 4 years ago.

On a side note, as a railroad fan, I would love to take a tour of the shops and facilities at Cedar Point. I would pay extra for that, no problem at all. Not many shops around dedicated full-time to the maintenance and regular operation of steam locomotives.
