Does it cost to live in housing?

Pikajane's avatar

I asked Karrah and she just sent me a big thing about housing, but never specified if it actually costs to live there. I understand utilities and such will pry factor in, but do I actually have to pay rent?

Yes on rent, no on utilities. I've heard the prices are going up this year, but last year I believe Commons dorms was $32 a week. The other housing units vary in price, but Commons dorms are the most expensive.

yea it will be deducted out of your paycheck every week. What I was trying to say is lets say you only work 10 hours for one week. The amount will still be the same no matter how many hours you work a week.

^ Wrong, it was changed this year, if you look at the FAQs on Cedar Points website its is now based on how many hours you work a week.

http://www.cedarpoint.com/_upload/pdf/2010_jobs_faq3.pdf

"Cedars & Gold Dorms
(located on the property) $0.50 per hour worked (up
to 40 hours) Maximum per week: $20.00

1300, 1400, 1500 Dorms
(located off-property) $0.87 per hour worked (up
to 40 hours) Maximum per week: $35.00

Commons Dorms
(located off-property) $0.70 per hour worked (up
to 40 hours) Maximum per week: $28.00

Bayside Dorms
(located off-property) $0.75 per hour worked (up
to 40 hours) Maximum per week: $30.00

Year-round Employees $25.00 per week "

So say if you work 10 hours in a week and you live in commons dorms (1300, 1400, 1500s) you will only be charged $8.70 that week, but for the most part your gonna be going over the 40 hours a week and you will still be charged the full price so for commons dorms (1300, 1400, 1500) it would still be $35 a week which went up from $32 a week last year.

Also they are no referring to the apartments at commons at Commons Dorms, and the dorms just has their numbers 1300 (all girl) 1400 (all male) and 1500 (Both).

Those buildings are pretty much all the same.

Like 99er stated, they really are the same concept, 1300s is all girls i i believe 3 to a room, 1400s is all guys and 3 to a room, sometimes 4 but normally only if you request because there are only three lockers. 1500s has an old and new side, the old side is all girls and has three lockers to a room so normally three girls to a room, the new side first floor is guys with 4 to a room and the 2nd and 3rd floor are girls with 4 to a room.

They've always prorated the room rates in the past if you work less than 40 hours in a week. Although I've never actually seen those fees broken down like the earlier post shows.

I'd been told directly from Debra that all the housing rates were just being raised by $4.
