Event overload!

Ok, I don't normally post topics here but this is deserving of it. For those of you who don't know yet, Tony released some info regarding some BIG events this year.

SO on top of the Chill Out and Coastermania, we also have "Millennium Walkback" and "Coaster Campout" to look forward to. Details can be found in the link regarding them.

While both of them are awesome, I want to focus on the camp out. This is an idea that has been running through my head for years and I'm beyond excited to see it happening.

Who else it excited and plans on going?! Discuss, DISCUSS!!

The camping one sounds very interesting. I am sure enthusiasts are going to go crazy over that one.

Coaster Campout! Wow, that's cool. We are HUGE campers, and always stay at CP in our RV. Folks, you should realize that tents are NOT ALLOWED at CP, so the fact you can bring one and stay in it inside the park is WAY cool. Nobody has ever done this before!

These are all awesome. I can't wait for the camp out. It will be an awesome experience.

Campout. Cool! Cool cool cool

That sounds like something I might make the trip for.

Probably wouldn't happen now since since Eden Musee is there, but how awesome would it have been to camp out in the Mean Streak Infield?

The only places with enough grass that I can think of would be Frontier Trail or in front of Gemini. Really depends on how many tents they have, and how much grass is left at Gemini after construction!

There are other places int he park with grass but not really large/long stretches in one spot. Though I did just think of the Antique Cars, and I guess the other car locations in the front but I think those locations are pretty hilly.

Perhaps they'll have it spread out. There's a lot of spots if you spread it out over the park. Raptor area, Erie Estates area, Power Tower area, Millennium overflow area, spots by Dragsters entrance and tower (not the infield), Witches Wheel area, Gemini entrance/station area and the Antique Cars area (if they were to allow it). But I have some confidence that there's enough room from Witches Wheel to Gemini (even after construction) to fit a huge amount of tents.

This all really depends on how many people sign up for this. And seeing that it's open to any club, it could very well have a huge turnout.

Adam is right, there is plenty of grass to camp everyone out. If it gets big enough and they have to resort to other areas. They have a beach, all I'm saying. I wouldn't object to camping out on the actual lake, that'd be nifty honestly.

Plus like I posted on KIC, at night there's ganna be noise and stuff going on, the park is still pretty busy at night. Plus with late night ERT & early morning ERT, looks like it's ganna be an all nighter. Tents don't seem too important haha.

I wonder if we will be able to roam the park during the night. I probably won't be able to sleep. Maybe Tony will chime in and let us know.

Are you kids honestly thinking about carting a tent and all you need for an overnight stay from the parking lot and back? Oh, to be young again.

If I don't get orders to go to the Pacific here next month & I stay, I just need to pack one bag. I have a 72 hour bag ready to go at all times, so just grab that, someone grab a tent, and go. Short simple sweet. Military style bags are so convenient.

I love the ideal too the park needs to do more things like this, it shows they care and with all the new higher ups in the parks I hope many more changes and events will occur.

Looking forward to the camping event, as I'm gonna have to miss the Chill Out and CoasterMania

The biggest question of all is... can I make a campfire? Because it's not truly camping unless there's a campfire, dammit!

I'm fairly certain the answer will be no, but boy would it be awesome to roast some s'mores near Mean Streak and accidentally knock over... never mind. :)

But seriously.. camp fire would be awesome.

I've been going to CP pretty much since birth, so this is a dumb question, but I don't know the answer...for the Millennium walk back, where do you park to get to the Marina Gate? I know there's a small parking lot across from it, but I thought that was just for marina/restaurant guests. But it looks like some people on here were able to park there successfully? Otherwise you just park up front right?

And the camp out sounds so cool. I'm really excited about that idea! But the pessimist in me is already expecting rain, especially after last summer!

You park in the main lot and walk along Blue Streak till you get there. That small lot across from is indeed only for marina/restaurant folks.
