Fondest CP 2007 memory...

Sooner or later this thread was bound to get started, so here it is.

Unfortunately, due to the economy and 4 hour drive, I wasn't able to make any memories this year. I planned several trips, and almost went but never quite made it. So I figured if every gave there favorite memory, I might be able to piece together a "fake visit".

Riding the last Magnum run of the night on July 1. I've made a summer vacation to CP every year since 1989 and this was the first time I've experience ride ops actually letting us stay in the train and dispatching us out again while the train was clamoring "one more time...one more time". It was the perfect way to end my vacation this year at CP.

Mine Would be the Maverick ERT in June and racing around to get as many rides in as i cloud (but felt the effects of it afterwords) and walking down frontire trail afterwords shure topped it off it was the first time ive seen the park so empty and quiet

Getting in line for TTD right at midnight on a Halloweekends Saturday, only to have it break down when we were in the station. Even though it was almost 1:00am they worked diligently to fix it so we could still ride, which we were able to. I doubt many other parks would do this.

Cedar Point rocks my socks.

^ No they wouldn't. I still have (hopefully) one more 2007 visit left. I do, however, coming to CP with the least crowds I have ever seen and only waiting 5 minutes for Raptor. Ahhh great day.

I got my first rollback in May on Dragster. But the season isn't over yet, I still have 3 days left so we'll see.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I only got to CP once this year but I had my son with me. I didn't ride one rollercoaster and it was one of the best visits I ever had.

As we walked past Red Garter they were singing "Life is a Highway" from the CARS movie and he was in heaven. We spent some time back in Camp Snoopy but he really loved going on the train, car rides, sky ride and other "adult" rides that he could ride with me. In fact, that is why I continue to push for more "family rides" that people could ride with their children whether they are 12 or 5 years old.

There are an awful lot of people in the market who fit my family demographics and would enjoy their trip to the park a lot more if they didn't have to be split up all day. That is why the Magic Kingdom is always the #1 park in the World. There are very few rides in the park that the whole family cannot ride together.

In any event, the day that just my son and I went at the beginning of the summer will be fondly remembered. They are only young once.

Best memory? Hmmm being part of the best seasonal event that helps set attendance records during the last weekends of the season giving you guys something to talk about.

11 years.

This summer my 6 year old daughter was 45 and a half inches, she was quite upset for the whole week we were there. But Columbus Day weekend she made 46 inches. We rode Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport 10 times a day. Her first "Big Person coasters." The look in her eye when the park operation lady put that 46 inch braclet on her hand was incredible. That is my fondest memory of Cedar Point this year. Sharing my love of the place and seeing my kids love it to!

Maverick Media Day. To be able to ride and ride and ride Maverick over and over without getting up will be one of my favorite memories of the 2007 season.

Thanks again Magnum Jerry, Ben Holcomb and Walt for the great pictures from that day. :)

Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast

First ride on Maverick and having a power outage in the back of the park and getting stuck in the tunnel for 45 mins, then having to climb down on ladders.

I have so many memories from 2007.

Theres Smoke in the Tunnel. Lighthouse Point Shenanigans. 3rd train of the season on Dragster (Rollback). Getting Engaged at the Park. Joe Cool Weekend Monsoon Deluge. Maverick ERTs.

So many more... I'm probably forgetting some of them.

^ - I remember that Monsoon. We were actually in the car on the way down Perimeter Road when the wall of rain hit. It was funny because there were people running around the marina (trying to get inside before it hit) and this wall just soaked everything within seconds.

Then we watched an idiot in a truck clip one of the stakes for one of the boat show tents, pulling it out of the ground and nearly collapsing that corner of the tent.

We were in the park for the deluge. In fact, we were on one of the trains for Maverick ERT that got held out in the rain for a bit. We got stopped out in waiting and got dumped on. We walked all the way from Maverick, out the SC gate, and to Lighthouse Point without umbrellas or jackets. Needless to say, by the time we got to our cabin we were completely soaked.

However, a tasty dinner at Chet and Matt's and an entertaining night with the Nintendo Wii made up for the soaking.

Josh and I felt the temperature drop (we're talking 5-10 degrees) while on Gemini and then just as we got over to Magnum, they were sending an empty train. We put 7 and 9 together and determined that it was time to go. Unfortunately, off-peninsula, the power was out. We ended up at Chet and Matt's as well, but must have left before you guys got there.

You must be talking about the big storm that actually did some tree damage near the causeway on Saturday afternoon. There were so many storms/rain showers that weekend. I was actually talking about the storm late Saturday evening.

LOL....yeah, 2 different storms apparently. Wasn't there one Friday during ERT as well?

Yes there was. Friday night there was a downpour. Saturday there was the afternoon storm. Then another storm later in the evening. Then on Sunday there was drizzle for a good part of the morning.

Needless to say the weather was not great that weekend, but I still had an awesome time. I got 18 Maverick rides in that weekend alone... most of which were during ERT times. If the weather had been better we would have all got more rides. I think all 3 ERT times were only around 30 minutes.
