I don't think that it is very professional to register your site on GoDaddy.com.

Oh really? I've dealt with plenty of companies who have used GoDaddy as their registrar. There's also plenty of companies out there who are resellers for GoDaddy.com - Despite their superbowl commercials and the image they might have presented for you, they really have been some of the more professional and courteous of the registrars I have used.

Could you use the word registrar one more time for me please?

The real question is, where's Double Loop going? It was the only one left out of the few that didn't receive a home that was worth anything.

eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!

Ride on, MrScott!

Please.. PLEASE don't let Villian be sold.

No one, anywhere, needs to enjoy that pain ever again.

If all this is true I hope Darian Lake buys the Villain

^^^^ - not to mention everyone that I've talked to who has had to call GoDaddy for tech help has gotten nothing but top notch service. And besides, their Super Bowl ads got their name out there and got people to remember it. Isn't that the point of advertising, especially when you're a domain name registrar?

*NOTE* - last registrar thrown in for Loopy's benefit.

Goodbye MrScott

I really would have figured that at least the Villain would have been moved to another park in the chain.

I have a couple domains registered under GoDaddy and I would recommend them to anyone. Great service and the prices are good.

I am withdrawing what I said about GoDaddy. I just have never seen one of their sites and the one that we are talking about looked like anyone could make with an HTML writer. The websites that we make in our High School look similar to that and we just use HTML Pad.

I agree Coasterfury. I do not understand why Cedar Fair will not move The Villain to another park. It's a great ride, and what people forget is only the track is wooden. The structure is all steel, making a move quit feasible. Heck, I'll take the Villian over Mean Steak any day of the week. World's of Fun does not have a true out and back, and they have plenty of room as well. Is it a maintenance nightmare maybe?

I noticed that the link provided at the beginning of the thread was to a site that lead you to the RCDB site... I believe that the prices listed are probably what they paid for them when they were built not what they are for sale for... $50,000 for Big Dipper... No way!

What does that have to do with the registrar?

That same company also retracked Mean Streak, Bleu Streak [as stated on there site], provided tech assistance, moved an 'antique carousel' from CP to Dorney, worked on TTD [im guessing install]. and are installing Behemoth at CW.

So its not like we haven't seen them before. We just didn't know it. *** Edited 11/8/2007 9:33:49 PM UTC by FluffyliketheForce***

^^ I already said that.

Here's my 3 cents. I don't like Villain (not Villian) because it is the worst "wooden" roller coaster ever. I am glad that I never have to ride that thing again. I like Mean Streak a lot more that that thing. Also, it would be nice to save Big Dipper, but I am not going to do it. Raging Wolf Bobs wasn't bad, but I am not going to put it in my back yard.

I differ.

The Big Dipper MUST BE PRESERVED since it is an ACE Coaster Classic and the oldest operating (since last summer) coaster in Ohio.

As for the Villain...it should be up for sale. If someone wants it, let them buy it. If there are no takers, then bring out the wrecking ball.

As for Raging Wolf Bobs, it just isn't worth it. I personally prefer the Mean Streak over RWB (which I rode at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure), and I thought RWB was even rougher than the Mean Streak. Also, a train derailment got the RWB demolition off to an early start.

Any coaster's demise makes me sad - but lets face it, other than being the oldest, Big Dipper doesn't have a lot going for it. It wasn't technologically advanced for its time, nor was it anything memorable with regards to famous people ridership etc.... Demolish and erect a memorial on its site.

I rode it :) that should count for something

and you mean put a memorial in the middle of a field/building/street/whatever ends up on the land? I think that would confuse a few people...

I don't think that means that much.

I think it is a bunch of crap to sell the big dipper and the others the villin was my fav coster but i think they could just put them in other CF parks. its really dissappointing.

What's Life If You Never Get To The POINT?...see yall in line!

Dvo's avatar

The problem there is that if they moved them, CF would be spending money rather than earning. As people said, 2 of the 3 coasters on the selling block aren't exactly rider favorites. More people than not have talked about how rough Villain is, and how RWB is just a joke. Sure, the Big Dipper should be preserved. But I think CF is making the right move by selling these coasters, rather than moving them.
