Funny stuff on Ebay.

I saw this link on Tpol. Thought it was kinda funny.

That looks pretty cool...I bet its fake though.... *** Edited 3/23/2005 12:15:36 PM UTC by cedarpointlover***

<3Mav

I'm betting it's fake.

Why would someone just happen to be on the beach at 3am, close enough to see this going on, and be able to literally run over, grab it, and not get caught?

Doesn't even appear, to me at least, to be the same color yellow. I call shenanigans.

So, what he's basically saying is that he's selling stolen property on eBay? Bright kid.

it looks more like a piece of a bicycle to me. :)

I'm sure it's real. The park loves to go after morons like this.

The funny thing I noticed is that he has a reserve on the auction. Apparently he thinks people will pay big money for a burned piece of metal. Unfortunately, it probably still won't be enough to cover his legal fees.

Like Jeff said, I'm sure the piece of track is for real. I'm not so sure about the truth of the story that is accompanying the photo. Either way, the park will have their way with the seller. The genius should have at least come up with a better story than that.

Richie A.

While he is trying to profit off the Cedar Point name, It's kind of like picking the trash. If someone wants to take something out of the trash can and sell it, oh well. It's garbage and if someone thinks it's worth any money, good for him. By the way, that's what I believe the story really is. I'm suprised a piece of the Iron Dragon's chain hasn't popped up. Those pieces went everywhere.

No. . .if he took cedar point property (material) off of cedar point property (land) then that is a BIT different from going through someone's trash. It's called. . .stealing. : )

I understand that it's stealing if his story is true. My question is what would have Cedar Point done with that piece of junk. They would have thrown it in the garbage! Let me guess you think they would give it a spot at Town Hall. Come on. It's junk! Just my opinion.

Or they may have wanted to send it to a lab to have it tested. Just because you think its junk doesn't mean the park wouldn't have wanted it for something after it was removed.

I WOULD say that I am confident that CP takes care to make sure things like that don't find their way out into the public. . .

. . .but that would force me to ignore the dismantled ride that sat unprotected in the EVC lot all last season, begging to be tampered with.

:)

But in any case, their property/their land -- not for someone to take and sell on ebay.

Moron. Simply a moron.

I don't recall WT to have solid yellow rails. What happend to the white strips that the wheels run on. That shows it's fake, but why argue, of course it is fake.

Who says its part of the rails? Might be a cross-member or what not.

JuggaLotus's avatar

Looking at the size of it, I'd wager that its one of the cross-members not an actual rail.

Has this item been reported to Cedar Point Police yet?

If not, I would be more than happy to call or email them to let them know. I just can't find an email address for that department on the site.

Now how stupid can someone be?

Looking at the past events. The police hang up on murder calls or domestic violence. So sure they will waste their time on a piece of a rollercoaster.
