Funny stuff on Ebay.

I was just looking at the ebay pic and it looks like the pipe was cut by a sedalien torch. If CP cut them with plasma cutters we would definetly know it is fake.

** Worst screen name ever**

It isn't a fake. Look at the angle of the cuts. They are match an exact match to that of the others in the picture. That's also why it was pulled, he knows he will get in trouble.

Here's another good picture.

That isn't the point. $5 or $5,000, it's the companies money and they aren't going to let it grow feet and walk away. The problem with this case is if they don't intervene, next year they might have many things stolen of more value. This past summer some idiots stole a couple TTD spoilers. They may have gotten away with them if they didn't show them off to somone who reported it.

Just because you don't use your Xbox doesn't give me the right to come over to your house and steal it.

most random logic eveeeer.

: )

The funny thing about the spoilers is the person who reported it has plenty of "stolen" items himself.

What if this thing was pulled out of the trash? Does anyone really believe CP workers would just toss these things around on the beach? I think it's just a story to try and drum up bids and that this guy found a construction dumpster and went in and got it.

Even if it was pulled out of the trash, it is still on property, and thus still "owned" by CP. Now if you were to find scrap coaster track at a junk yard, I would think then it is fair game.

I know where I work, there is some merchandise that gets thrown away, even if it is perfectly fine, but it is old and out of our systems, and thats the way the company wants it. We can't just jump in once its in the trash and say "well, you were throwing it away"...

Its still stealing.

I thought that trash in ohio is considered public property,if he didn't break into the park to get to the dumpster, say it was in the parking lot by the hotels is that still stealing? I know people who got computers, etc by going to the key tower downtown when they upgrade their computers and toss their old ones in the dumpster and they didnt do anything, they had to get admitted to the parking garage to do it to. I guess each company is different, I would have to specifically look the law up in ohio,it's an interesting thought though if he is in the park legally and garbage picks. Would be an interesting question if we have any lawyers in the group.

Sounds like it could be the same case as when the maid cleaning the office was dumping out trash and found a winning million dollar pop cap. The office worker then tried to claim the cap when she found out that the cap was a winner and stated that she didn't mean to throw it away. Didn't they have to split the prize????

It is really hard to say, whose property is it?

Two years ago, I asked CP if they ever threw out their pop machine inserts, I would like to have one (because my picture is on it). I got a call last year and they gave me one. Ask first, you never know what the result will be. You may have to have some patience, but to me, waiting over a year was well worth it. ASK FIRST, it never hurts.

If you throw something away, say in the trash, I think its pretty much up for grabs. The real questions is if it was trash and if said person trespassed to get it. If it was trash, but someone tresspassed to get it, then they really are only guilty of tresspassing. You can't say you wanted it if you really intended to throw it away. I guess we really don't know what CPs intent was with this item. We really don't know where he really got it from either. If it was trash, I don't think much is going to happen to him, probably nothing. I really wanted to see it, I never got the chance to view the item.
