Future Coasters from Cedar Point....

After starting a improvement to raptor thread I found out that most people other then myself would freak out if something was ever done to there precious ride... Hence this thread.. The idea here is to talk for one-two weeks about a specific type of coaster and what possibilites that it could hold for cedar point. If one type of coaster garners a ton more intrest we can focus on that type. Just did not want to start 16 threads on diffrent types of coaster and what they mean for cedarpoint one thread to hold all coaster types seemed a much better idea..

First up : A New Inverterd ride (AKA:Raptor2)

What would you want to see ?? Longest invert ?? Tallest ?? Most inversions ?? Start brainstorming guys and maybe just maybe this can become a interesting and new type of thread !!

P.S. What coaster has the most inversions in the world ?? Always bugged me I read somewhere about one that had 10 inverts but not really sure where it was.

Eleazar.... There are already many threads on this site that focus on new improvements to CP (coaster wise)

Answer to your question-- yes the most inversions on a coaster is ten.. I have seen videos of this coaster (I believe it is over seas soemwhere) google it out to see. There are 10 inversions. The video makes you dizzy!

I would personally like to see a record breaking Inverted. But the possibilities of that are slim to none been as G's act different on you being inverted compared to a normal sit-down ride. I like when inverts use the terrain, such a Nemesis, dipping through valley and over waterfalls and through tunnels. I like rides that you can't see too much of until you are actually riding them. What the hell, Get rid of Disaster Transport and Put an inverted in that building!!!

That would be a great idea. Put a flyer in it and call it Disaster-Flyer or something.

That would be "Colossus" at Thorpe Park, UK

That is a cool idea Coasterdevil... an indoor flyer... yeah i like that. That would definitely be innovative! They would have to make the building bigger though. But what about one of those "spaghetti bowl" coasters like Poltergeist or Flight of Fear at Kings Dominion, but inverted or flying!!

Yeah that would be auesome to have a coaster like Flight of Fear but flying or floorless!!! But some people would be to freacked out to ride it. But I think that is a intresting idea

I would love to see DT get replace it with a better coaster, all in the dark.

Maybe a LIM launch right through the roof of the building out into the day and then right back down into the darkness?

Indoor going outdoor going back indoor would be a cool consept too. Tell me if im wrong but I do believe there is an inverted coaster that starts out inside a volcano and shoots you out the top of it.

3 Rollbacks- 2 back to back front row -dead serious- IT WAS THE SH*T!!!!!

"Volcano: The Blast Coaster" at PKD. It looks like an interesting concept. The only problem is the show I saw it on used an idiot meter to find the worst people to talk to about the coasters which made it entirely worthless to watch. It does look like a fun coaster though, especially with the flame spurt at the top that is (I'm guessing) only about 10-20 feet from the track.

You are correct, its actually called Volcano :)

I have a video of it on my computer, it looks like a sweet coaster.

I want to ride it.

Replacing DT with an indoor flyer that went inside and out would be one of the best improvements to CP's coaster collection ever! But only if it was a good coaster...(track layout, airtime, ect.)

Ok, so cross flier off the list.

There's that coaster in Dollywood that has a station flyby where the track actually goes THROUGH the station about 8-10 feet above the platform... I thought the concept was great and it would be great to see something like that at CP.

A GCI would be a great. Lightning Racer at Hershey Park looks like it could be fun for wide range of people.

I would like to see a new addition to Frontier Town. That area of the park always seems rather "dead" when I am back there. Personally, I think we will be seeing a B&M Flyer in the next few years, but then again, maybe not, considering Magic Mountain's recent addition. (Not that they are in competition or anything...;)) I would like to see a Mack water coaster back in frontiertown, maybe with a section that actually goes out over Lake Erie. I think that would be a great addition.

Coaster Count: 147

Adding darkeness to ride really brings out the excitment factor in this. I mean.. a few people said go out doors and then indoors and then outdoors. i think the thrill aspect would be greatly increased if the entire ride (well, minus the lift hill) was indoors. Just because the lift hill would be alot higher than the rest of the ride. unless it was lim. A lim flyer! that's it! Think of all the "non-coaster-literate" people would be scared to death of that. but us coaster enthusiasts thrive on ideas liek that! In my opinion it wouldn't have to be the tallest, or longest, or highest, or have the most inversions; I think that a flyer in the dark would be an excellent addition to CP as long as the flyer had a good layout. Tatsu looks pretty cool. Put that Bi**h indoors and let it run!

Tim

Have any of you guys actually ridden any of the coasters you are suggesting CP build similar rides of?

"That coaster with the volcano" and "that coaster at Dollywood" just don't make you sound like you're making a very informed statement.

Michael.... Volcano :The Blast Coaster at King's Dominion... yes i have riden it. and Thunderhead at Dollywood... no i haven't ridden it but we as coaster enthusiasts know OUR coasters!

But even still, this is a fantasy thread that we are talking about. LIke any of these afore mentioned ideas will happen! It's what we want to see happen.

PS. Give the dude a break.... he's on a mission to ride MF and Dragster!

Tim

I would get rid of DT alltogether and rip up that parking lot and maintenance area behind the games area and build a nice 4-D coaster. I know it would work...

And I would build that Midway area where WWL used to be... If only I could let CP know my ideas, I'm a very creative person. I'm sure whatever they have in mind for the future is better then anything I can think up.

Hi guys back after work... Just so you know I kinda wanted to focus on one type of coaster per week and the first one was inverted and what you would want to see in a inverted one after its exausted we can move to fliers floorless 4.d etc etc etc...
