Halloweekends 2012

When do the haunts open on a Sunday? Are they open all day or do they open after dark. Since the park closes at 9pm, is there a preferred plan of attack? (pun intended)

The Houses open at 3 and the outside attractions open at 7. Do the houses you wish to do from 3-7, adjust time for the ones you want to skip, then do the walk throughs around 7:30-8 to make sure it's dark enough.

I have only visited on Friday nights for Halloweekends, but does this year seem less crowded? I know last year every Saturday was slammed. I waited four hours for Maverick last fall, but I haven't read any crazy stories this year.

I think it was last year that Walt was tweeting pics of people parking in the grass. Has it been at all like that this fall?

^ you mean the soft porn show? ;) Not that im complaining, eye candy is always good!

I am a fan of Magic and haven't been to CP for a few years. I have always enjoyed Aaron Radatz, Chris Linn, and Tim Hill. I haven't been able to see the new Sideshow: Carnival of Magic and have heard it's good. I didn't know it was soft porn show. That's too bad.

In Sideshow there are about six females who dance at times in somewhat scanty attire, but far from soft porn. In reality you see less clothes on most of the girls in the park on a warm day. JW was probably kidding. It's more mordern Vaudeville with a small amount of magic thrown in.

Sideshow is entertaining, but the magic is limited if that is what you are looking for. It's family friendly.

What was with the crowd Sunday? The parking lot had more cars than Saturday. The park was jammed. Must have been the rare nice weather.

This is my 3rd year working Halloweekends and Sunday was by far the busiest I've seen it on a Sunday (including Columbus Day Sundays). Of course that's POV and may not be backed up by actual numbers. I do recall pulling in at first, seeing the parking lot, and saying it looks like it's a Saturday. It hasn't rained every day during Hallowkeends, but it hasn't really ever been sunny, nice, and warmer. I think the weather yesterday really contributed to a very large crowd.

The weather has been very crappy this season. Sunday was one of the rare nice days October has had.

I think when the figures are reported we are going to find that revenues are down substantially this year vs. last, for fall. The weather in the midwest just has not cooperated this year. Last year, on the other hand, featured nearly ideal weather for the entire fall season.

Revenue may be down, though I wouldn't expect substantial deviation from last year. Remember - they didn't have FL (or, to a lesser extent, DA) last year. And there's every indication that FL was quite popular.

I'm not sure about that. Every weekend I've been to the park it has been just as busy, if not busier than last year. The last two Saturdays I saw cars parks on the grass on the causeway because there wasn't enough room in the main parking lot. Time will tell, but I'd be willing to bet that revenue is still equal or greater than 2011.

Screamster crew, I had a lot of nice things to say about you guys in my closing day trip report if interested.

I forgot to post my Cornstalkers experience though. It was one of my weaker times through honestly (but very understandable with the cold rain and wind). The corn husk Screamsters had mostly herded to the barn area, and they were pretty easy to spot. ;)

The Screamsters in the other outdoor scare zones were still going strong through the weather though. That's some dedication. The Screamster carrying an umbrella in Carnevil and scaring from beneath it was a bit comical for me. :) Maybe she was a wicked witch and couldn't get wet or something.

Glad you enjoyed your trip(s) through CTC. As much as the cold, rainy nights can suck, it's just more incentive to give 110% for the guests who are actually there.

You know what...I just looked at your profile pic, Ralph, and you seem to resemble from my memory the Screamster that I awarded scare (or jump) of the night to. Were you working late Sunday night in CTC, and were you the one I stepped on by chance? I was turned the other way, and when I turned back around, you were just standing inches away from my face. That'd be funny if it was you...

I was there all of Sunday night. I believe I may have been the one distracting you. The guy you stepped on has the same mask as me. :)

Since this is Halloween related I decided to post it here in the Halloweekends thread. It appears that CP fans are everywhere...check out this cool costume from my former hometown of Hendersonville, TN....
