Halloweekends 2012

A few months ago I suggested that CP could use Mean streak's field as a new haunt location, but everyone said no because they couldn't imagine any room where people could wait. Now that it might actually happen, I see a change of heart. ;\

Well I think it was more based off the fact that the shed back there now is used for maintenance and the idea that they would actually remove the queue is sort of a surprise to some. You were no more wrong back then at suggesting that than what people are still suggesting for the new ride. :)

I was on Maverick today and noticed that themeing for the new haunt is starting to show up.

Is it a lot of the same stuff from the original terror island? Have any pics?

well ya can't take pics on rides silly, and I can't wait for those spooky people to start spooking. It Sounds like it might be a really good time, can't wait to see all my friends again.

Well I could have taken one from the train or the exit platform on Maverick.....but I didn't. :)

It looks like one of the boats from Terror Island and it's placed against the lowzone fence for the horseshoe roll.

oh yay, cowboy pirates, cause maverick is cowboy themed ya know. :)

I always thought frontier town could pull of a haunted ghost town scarezone, but it hasn't been done yet.

Does the park actually have any cell "towers" on-site, or is all cell service coming from the mainland? If they're in the park, does anyone know where they are located?

There is (or at least was) a Verizon tower attached to the water tower. I think there might be something attached to the top of Breakers Tower as well. But yes, those crazy Saturdays pretty much render most cell phones useless inside of the park.

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

AT&T is on top of Breakers Tower.

Yeah that's what I meant. I know you couldn't have taken any on the ride, I just should have been more clear haha.

And just so I'm clear, I was referring to the cho cho train. :D

^ Verizon is still there I'm pretty sure, I was able to text and call all day last Monday when it was decently crowded.

One of the benefits of Verizon's LTE is that since a lot of people don't yet have it, it still works well during busy days. The same can't be said for the 3G network.

Yeah, I have the Verizon LTE iPad and it's honestly faster than my cable modem at home, in Cleveland, Chicago and near Asheville, NC (the only markets I've used it in).

I've had speed tests that are anywhere from 10 to 50 mbps. I'm just glad I upgraded in March, so I have unlimited data at least for the next 2 years.

You'll get that a lot on here

Do we know if the attraction in Mean Streak's infield is a haunted house or a scare zone? If it's a scare zone, then lines really won't be an issue.

TTD 120mph's avatar

It makes more sense that it'll be a house of some kind.

Hmmmm so this means you'll have to wait until night to get the "dark" experience of the haunted house because it's outside with no roof. I know Knott's has a couple haunted houses that aren't in buildings. Personally I could care less about waiting until later; except the fact that the lines will probably be longer at 8:30 than at 4:00.
