I will be working on Gemini, and my husband will be working on a lifeguard. They said there is a limited amount of married housing which we will probably be able to get into. Does anyone know anything about it like where it is and what it's like?
Oh, and my husband contract has him checking in the 15th, and mine says the 16th. Will I get into any kind of trouble for beeing there and not checking in? (I'm confused.)
(Also, any info on Gemini or lifeguarding would be appreciated!)

bobdeal, my mind is probably in the gutter but read your first sentence and see if you see what I am reading. Just thought I would let you know before people start making jokes about it.
The married housing is in Bayside, located approximately 2.5 miles from the park. There are regular busses (run by CP) that will take you back and forth. But be warned: you cannot walk or ride bicycles on the causeway that connects the two places. So really, driving, riding the bus, or getting a ride with someone are your only options. You should also know that parking at Bayside is a problem. Its lot is very small, and it's reserved. The parking lot across the street at Commons fills up pretty fast in the evenings, so you may end up having to cross two streets to get to and from your car. However, the guard will generally let you drive in to load or unload stuff (luggage, groceries, etc.)
As for the apartment itself, I will describe mine for you--but, of course, yours might be slightly different. It's a fairly nice one bedroom, one bathroom apartment, fully furnished (70's decor). There's a full kitchen with an oven, stove, and refrigerator. There's a full bed, a dining table (three chairs), a couch (that makes into a bed), two chairs, two large dressers, a coffee table, an end table, a lamp, and two lamp/table things. There's also quite a bit of closet space.
There is no desk, so you may have to get creative if you're bringing your computer (I'm using one of the dressers).
There is one phone (rotary), curtains, and a shower curtain. They will provide sheets and towels, but they're not the finest quality, so you might want to bring your own anyway. Baside does have a laundry room on the second floor (there are three floors) of each building, with two washers and two dryers ($0.75 / $0.50). Odds of using them on Sundays, though, are pretty slim. :o)
There's also a small convenience store located in one of the two Bayside buildings, but I haven't actually gotten around to checking it out yet. :P

Thankyou, Yellow for your info - you are way more help than the people at CP that you're supposed to ask. (I guess they get tired of answering the same questions over and over.) I don't feel so uneasy now about driving 18 hours to a place I've never seen. :)
Also - anyone who has info on gemini or lifeguarding (rather than working on lifeguards ;) would still be a big help.

Your Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader on Gemini, Kipp and Rob, are awesome. The crew last year was one of the most fun crews to hang with in the park. I've heard that it's a really fun ride to run too, so you'll have a good time. I'll be sweeping in your zone, so you'll probably meet me, hehe! See ya!

Out of all the new people I'm going to meet -will there be very many that don't drink their spare time away? I don't pick friends according to their drinking habits, but I was just curious if I will probably end up being the only one who's sober all summer....
