Help Gang- gather some info 4 new employees, etc.

Hey all,

As you read, I posted info for "Things To Do On Your Day Off" in the Toledo/BG area including malls, restaurants, community theaters/cultural events, area attractions.

Living in the Sandusky for 5 years, as well as travelling there at "least" bi-weekly, I am very familar with "Things to Do" in the area, but I would love to have your personal input- and I will then post all of your information in one posting for new employees. I know that many new people may feel intimidated or "lost", thinking that they are "stuck" at the park.

So aside from the obvious (Louies, Old Dutch, Club X, etc.), please feel free to send me suggestions via personal e-mail. I am seeking area restaurants, community theater/cultural & sporting events, area attractions within a 15 mile range of the Cedar Point peninsula. Thank you and I look forward to your replies!!

I hope there are some Karaoke clubs. Its my new love. :)

MacKenzie, where you with us when there were like 10 of us in the van after Karaoke night at X and we got pulled over cause Anthony ran the stop sign? Worst night of my life.

Anyways I didn't go too many places when I was there because I didn't have a car. So if you dont have a car you're basically stuck there unless you want to walk to downtown Sandusky (Its actually very nice)

If you have a car Marblehead Lighthouse is a pretty cool place to go. It doesnt take too long to get there and on the way there are some cheap tourist attractions like a "safari" and a cheap water park.

Two movie theaters. The crappy one by the mall is getting shut down and they are building a NICE 12 screen one down the road by Menards i think

There's an amazing jetti to look out over the park, it's near battery park, my favorite place to just go and relax and think! It's beautiful to look atthe park from the jetti, and there's a fun little playground we referred to as death park! It has a crazy stand up see-saw! It's about a 30-45 min walk from commons of a 2min drive, I forget the road names but it's not that far and it's an incredible place to go!

We used to go hang out on Cedar Point Beach at night. There are very few if any people and you can see all that stars. It closes at midnight though, so we obviously didn't hang out there very long.

It retains original lattice railings, which are interesting because they are present beyond the truss itself and onto the abutments. The adjacent park is popular for late night fishing and a great observation point for wildlife including deer, fox, raccoon, owls, etc.

HURON LIGHTHOUSE AND PIER- The Huron Lighthouse is maintained by the United States Coast Guard. The mile long pier is open to the public and is a great fishing spot all year long. Chett and Matt's is hands down my favorite pizza anywhere. The rest of their menu is pretty tasty too. I recommend checking out their buffets. I believe lunch buffet (pizza and salad) run Monday-Friday from around 11A-1:30P and the dinner buffet (with pizza, salad and wings) runs from about 5P-8P Sunday-Thursday.

man I totally agree 100%!! Chet & Matt's buffet is awesome and their menu is great.

I've done parks & restaurants,...next on my agenda will be area attractions, as well as cultural events. As you've noticed, there have been 10 selections from each category. These are only very limited suggestions- there is so much more! All are based on comments/opinions/suggestions from former employees.
