Just when you thought it was slow.....

Well the day started off slow and the park wasn't cracking up to be all that busy, or so I thought.

The crowds kept coming.......and coming as the day went on. We left thepark at about 9:15 PM and the park lot was as full as we had ever seenit. Now we've been to the point almost 30 times in the last 3 years ifthat holds any weight.

Soak City lot, might not have been marked off full (or no entry fulllot in other words). But the parking lot was very full. Okay...well theresort lots were packed to the brim as well, but they have been thelast few times we've been there.

Than as we left at 9:15 we notice that the parking lot was full almostto the rear. Another 3-4 rows (not exact) would have put the mainparking lot at capacity.

Top Thrill Dragster midway was just jammed packed with people. Wedidn't attempt to ride Raptor or TTD as the lines we're simply too longto bear with the heat.

TTD was down for some time in the morning, and Raptor was running all day.

We have a new love of coasters and the back row. Man the back row isabsolutely fun. The front of the coaster is overrated I have to say.Midway through rear is the place to be.

The park was very busy...we're talking lines at every food stand andeven drink stand. We beat the crowds by going to Soak City, sitting inthe Breakers pool, and riding many of the "less popular rides". Thisyear Millennium Force has a wait time that is "below normal". 45minutes or there abouts. It's not that the coaster is not popular. Butmany people seem to be going to Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster andfilling those queues up.

Magnum had 15 to 30 minute waits through the day. I was amazed that thelines were as short as they were for many rides considering the parkinglot. I also noticed it was a lot of families who looked like theyweren't there to ride the ride necessarily but do other things togetheras a family.

Maxair seems to be getting increasingly popular as the lines spill outon to the midway frequently through the day. Maxair was also down for aperiod of time of which I am not sure.

We neglected to look at Raptors lines except once. The wait was 1 hourand 15 minutes and we didn't want to scorch ourselves there. So weskipped it and never check back. The park didn't seem to be letting upneccessarily on people wanting to ride rides. But families were leavingthe park as the day wore on. This still did not make the midways muchless crowded.

This might be a bit of a generalization, but we noticed several timesin the day people disregarding the rules. Aka instead of walking aroundthe Power Tower queue as instructed, they would cut through.

We we're passed in line more than once by african americans who simplycut. They walk in after us (literally it should be us...and than them). We weren't walking fast enough it seemed (despite their being a linewaiting for them...so whats the rush? running to wait?) And they sayexcuse me at least, and than continue to walk in front of you, and cutin line.

Maxair, we noticed an african american girl enter the queue and proceedto walk all the way up to their friends who we're conveniently gettingtheir seat numbers assigned to them. The ride op did not seem to noticeand let her in. Than a group of 5-6 people who should have been next inline started a verbal altercation about it being unfair.

Fine okay, they cut in line. But heres where things get justridiculous. If your going to cut in line, okay thats your wrong doing. But she actually continued to instigate the guy by laughing, pointing, and looking at him while waiting for the ride cycle to end. Finallygleefully she slapped her leg, pointed at the people who should havewent, and laughed and than boarded MaxAir. Now she sat and rubbed it inthat families face, which is taking it too far. This is how fightsbreak out.

This is not to say all african american people cut in line. But it isto say that there were groups of african americans who had no disregardfor park rules and we're in several instances making their own rules upas they go along.

No one should cut in line, but to have that kind of an upbringing tosit and rub it in someones face is something I didn't even want tobelieve.

Im waiting for the flames.

I might rephrase it as "rogue thugs" of all ethnicities cause problemsat CP, because people of all races have shown a disregard for the rulesat the point. Even I myself hopped in Maverick's line after it closedonce and was asked to leave the ride.

^Sadly I've seen virtually the same sort of event happen on too many occasions (regarding the line jumping instance). Especially at parks very close to urban areas.

Don't mind the keyboard spacing. This keyboard sucks at work.

What day did you go on?

As far as the spacebar thing, I was amused to find someone who's trip report had the same funky spacing mine did. (Mine because of bad cut-paste transfer from a wordprocessor).

Nice to know the place is busy, but still not too terrible w/ the lines.

I sure wish we lived closer and could be out there more often. (Especially w/ Milli's night riding date coming so soon!!)

bad, but thinking makes it so. --Hamlet

July 13th sorry guys

Back of Millie and Magnum is the bomb.
And my spacing is messed up because I am on my bosses computer, and his keyboard sucks.

The very back of Magnum, or the kinda back? I like the kinda back because it is fun. But the very back hurts like hell for me.

Is the boss aware that you are using his keyboard to post on message boards instead of working? Or IS posting on message boards your job? Hee. ;)

Anywhere on Magnum rocks.

My first time on Magnum I rode in the very back. That is when I fell in love, so yes it did rock. But it still hurt. So now I ride in the middle usually. The fronte is awesome too. I just couldn't handle all of the air in my face, but I think I'm going to give it another try.

If you have not tried the third row, do so. It is great.

I also like the first row of the last car, and first row of second cars.

But I'd take a ride anywhere on that any day I could.

I agree with you about taking a ride on Magnum, anywhere, any day. :) Next time I will try the third row.

I am shocked when I ride Magnum how many people I hear saying "Ouch!" or "This ride is so rough!". Clearly they have never been on any coasters by Vekoma....

However, I will say that I can see for some people how the airtime on the bunny hops could be painful...

I work at an ISP call center. Yeah all that typing you hear when you call in is really me chatting away.

And we usually rode 2nd or 3rd to the back. Not the actual last row.

My sister thought Magnum was extremely painful. It was the first coaster I took her on, and it kinda ruined our day until the very end. Although it hurts when I ride in the back, it doesn't really make me enjoy the ride any less. I mean, come on it's Magnum! :)
