Longest Dragster wait last season

Just wondering what was the longest some of you have waited for Dragster?

Last year we ran from the gate right when the park opened and we were first in line (at the entrance to the Dragster). They said it was going to open within 30 minutes. Then they said it was down due to mechanical problems and they didn't know how long it would be. We decided to wait since we were first in line. We waited an hour. Then two hours. By then we decied that we had waited so long it didnt make sense getting out of line b/c if we did then it would open and the wait would be crazy. So we waited for almost 5 hours before it opened. We were the first to ride. We walked all through the line straight into the first car. Once we got off everyone in the park was running to get in line and all the other rides (MF, Raptor) had VERY short lines. so, in a way it paid off but it was SUCH A LONG WAIT! we actually ended up falling asleep for awhile. we waited so long just because when we had waited for 2 hours, we didn't want to get out of line when they kept saying it could open any minute.

just wondering if anyone else has any other stories.

can't wait for opening weekend. anybody else getting their season passes this friday?

I believe I waited FIVE HOURS with my dad, Josh, and his brother on Opening Day last year.

was it super busy on opening day or was it broken?
I can personally atest for guests who waited at least 7.5 hours. The ride went down mechanical while they were in the station. They chose to wait. After about an hour and a half we (the crew) started playing ice breaker games with them to keep them entertained. 7.5 hours later, the ride went back up, and they got on. Those people gave the greatest "Welcome back riders, how was your World Record Breaking Ride?" cheer. Ah, you take the good with the bad on that ride.

I read it was very busy that day but the ride was only running 3 trains with only 4 cars instead of 5. That lowered the capacity and the ride ops were new.

Here's a picture of the end of the line on August 14. I don't know if the line inside the ride was full at that time or if the ride wasn't open yet.

That type of line was typical before the que was open. I waited 1 1/2 hours from beyond that point. And that was on the busiest day CP has seen in years. (Halloweekends, last Fall)

Opening day last year I waited 6 hours...it was okay because that was the mission of the day...besides since I was going to work there I would have my chance to ride what I wanted all summer long.

Will Foamy become the next Strong Bad? I guess we will find out...

Caution: Foamy isn't quite as "PC" as Strong Bad.

Mine 7 1/2 hours. 2 hours outside the line waiting for it to open. Then 5 1/2 when it was broke down and I was in the station. All worth it though...
Yep,I waited 4 hours opening day too. I got in line when the park opened. They were running only 3 trains and launching every 1 or 2 minutes opening day,it sucked royally.

However I was happy when i stayed there on halloweekends and got in the park early both friday and saturday and had a 10 minute wait

The most I waited was 4 hours once. It went down mechanical and we didn't want to leave the line. It was actually kind of fun. We got to know some of the other people in line, and were playing games with them while we waited.

Less than 2 weeks till opening day!!

7 hrs, but for 2 rides......kinda- We noticed that Dragster was open for the first time of the day at 5, so we got in line, promising ourselves we would wait in line until we rode it.

Well the line was running pretty fast, we were in line for about 45 minutes and had already traveled from under corkscrew to the second section of the queue lines. It was then when we heard, "ugh"'s for the station and the announcement came that TTD was done. When it finally opened at about 10:15, we noticed that because it was down the whole day, CP kept it open for 15 extra minutes. We got back in line just before they closed the line. Well, we were the next in line when the lights went out....it had broken down......again. Well we stayed there until about 2 o'clock when they got they phone call and gave us 'front of the line' passes that we used the next day. I would say it was worth it for my first 2 rides.

Well I had 17 rides this year and the longest I waited was 2 and a half hours. I rode about 1:30 am that night. It was great because the whole midway was empty and it was like you were riding and no one was there but you. The shortest wait however was when i got to go up the exit, I really liked that wait. :)

The longest i've had to wait was 3 hours. 2 hours in the line and 1 hour in the line for the 1st car (the shortest being 1.5 hrs). It was all my brothers fault because if we had went in the one of the other lines we would of been on the ride much sooner, but the ride in the front is absolutly amazing.(especially when you get to feel your skin being pulled back)

All in favor of going to Cedar point say "I!!!!!!!"

15 hours for 3 rides. Its too long of a story, I think its in my TR from last summer on this site.

Longest wait ya say? My longest wait was only 2 hours, as we opted to do other things instead of spending the day in line if the line happened to be excessive. Not too mention, all the days I went, the line was not all that excessive to begin with.

Here's to hoping the intervals are much, MUCH better than opening day last year!

As in my quote below.. I was at cp alot last season. almost every wed. some saturday nights. and sundays.. it was fun though. most of my wait time was outside along the fence hoping for it to open.. I met some cool folks out there and some not so cool folks as well. and I heard tons of People talking about dragsters magnetic launch.. Overall my worst wait time was early july when it was supposed to reopen I waited over 6 hours along the fence and it never did open until after i left. I plan to get my rides up to 100 this year.. if all goes well..cya there.

TTD rides =35, Time spent waiting for those rides= 51 hours.

We waited 6 hours for it on opening day last year. It was worth it in my opinion.

You guys are going to be surprised of me. My longest wait I waited was 2 hours and 30 minutes. That was in July too. My first wait I went In June 3rd and the line was half the queue so it was suppossed to be an hour wait. So we waited like a half hour and then it broke down. So we waited like an hour in which we were going to leave but our other friend said no lets stay because it might open if we leave. So an hour later it opened and we waited like a half hour longer and then got. So by time we got on, we waited about 2 hours and 30 minutes. That was the longest I waited.

I waited two hours for the initial ride opening day, and then four at the end of the day, including breakdowns for half that time. I rode again in July waiting an hour and a half for a front car ride, with a full queue.

I own you!

I just cant see waiting 7.5 hours for a coaster thats like 15 seconds long ;) but since im going to Cedar Point all the way from Louisiana I belive i will wait the wait NO MATTER how long it is!
