Luminosity Testing?

What I noticed when I was there is the lack of the light up concrete pathways that they talked about on the PointBuzz tour. Did they scrap those?

I was at the park this weekend. The show looks great. They were looping the same 10 songs though. In one of the parking lots there were more concrete bench/planters. I am wondering if these will be going in the old Wildcat area. The stage area was small so that extra space is much needed.

I was there Sunday first time this year. I noticed behind the wall where Wildcat was some metal that looked like part of a temporary grandstand, and from Mantis I could see it better. I couldn't see anything other than the metal- no seats, benches, etc. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it something left over from Wildcat?

There will be bleachers back there.

I noticed it today, it looks like it'll be bleachers. Jeff has been saying that the area is bigger in person than on the webcam. I don't agree with that, that area is just as small as it looked on the webcam. It'll be nice when they take the fence down and all the construction is done.

The only thing I've noticed is that there will probably be lights shooting out from under those curvy bench things they have all over there. I saw them working on one of them opening weekend, and there were wires coming out the end of it. My guess is those will project light along the ground, but I have no idea really.

Maybe the lack is because they are not going to be used until Luminosity actually starts. Just a thought....

^^^ I thought the same thing. Those that claimed there was a ton of space in front of that stage, and that Wild Cat's removal had nothing to do with space...couldn't disagree more.

Without harvesting Wild Cat for space, I think it would have been incredibly cramped in front of that stage. The walk way came out farther into the midway than I was expecting, and those concrete islands didn't help. Then, they added a barrier of metal fencing around everything (this might go away for the show?), that devoured more space. I think the midway bypass and VIP seating would have eaten up just about everything in front of the stage.

The sacrifice of Wild Cat should help somewhat, but I'm still picturing it a battle to get one of those good seats.

Thay have been attempting to glue, or epoxy lights under the curved benches. There is a channel that is right under the seat. Looks like they are having issues with the lights staying glued in. The sets of seats along the stage have cardboard peices cut out and holding the lights in place while the adhesive sets. I did notce a couple sets that were lacking the cardboard and the lights were falling out of the channels....not a good start there. That seems like a half baked way to secure them. Wouldnt it make more sense to do something a little more permanent?

Epoxy is pretty dang permanent.

Brandon

It depends on the epoxy.

If it is already falling off in places, something wasnt done right. Concrete anchors every 12" (small tapcons maybe) would be a better idea,or a combination of both

The crowds loved the show tonight. Haven't heard a complaint about it at all. I think this is going to go over very well with the general public.

A few people I have talked to have said that during the show you don;t even feel like you're at Cedar Point and that visually it's beyond anything they have expected. Seeing how hard everyone has worked on this show I am very excited to see this and am a full believer this is a huge step in a positive direction.

They had the dancers up there tonight, along with the lights and music going. We could see some of the lights driving into the park from pretty far away. It looks neat but doesn't look like something i'd stop and watch

It looks like it'll be very well done. I'm not sure I'm exactly the target audience for it, at least based on the music selection, but I think it'll be very good.

I HATE Luminosity. It's very noisy and hurts my eyes. Also the dancers were very inappropriate. I don't question other's sexualities but don't shove it in my face please.

What's being shoved in your face? Don't like it? Don't watch.

You don't have to watch it you know. I personally cannot wait to see it. I think it will be a great addition to spice up the night at the park.

What in the world are you talking about in that last sentence?
