Midway is flooded!

I wouldn't either but who knows, to me a tornado watch and thunderstorm watch is the same. The difference if there are warnings. If it a tornado warning it is different then a thunder storm warning. Tornado or thunderstorm watch mean your watching out for things to me same thing.

If anyone has the ability, time and willingness, could you post perhaps a screenshot or ten of the HD vid that Jeff posted?

I could never view the HD Skyhawk movies on my home PC for some reason (its plenty powerful enough), though I have yet to try in Vista (not that I'd expect it to work any better).

Thats so wrong to a Weather-Nerd like me... There is a completely different set of criteria for a Tornado Watch as opposed to a Svr Thunderstorm Watch. But I guess to the average person, they all seem the same. Today is a storm lover's (like me) paradise here in Northern Indiana. We are right in the bullseye of the Moderate Risk of Severe Weather from the SPC... I honestly think we will only see a Severe T-Storm Watch here, just because I think we will see more of a squall line as opposed to individual cells that are more prone to produce Tornadoes. But with the air as unstable as it is, we could get anything.

Looks like CP is getting some pretty decent rain right now as well...

How do other parts of the park, say Frontier Town/Trail take to heavy rain like that?

Thanks Eric and Walt for those pics, nice job!

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Jeff-With your camera, I think you could have a pretty successful career being a tornado chaser. I'd love to see some High-Def footage of that! :)

The picture of the car half underwater in the parking lot is impressive.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Yes it is it's very...impressive.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

Well, we have been getting some pretty heavy rain, with lightning and thunder here, just south of Detroit, all morning. Look out CP it's heading your way.

First trip June 23rd

Then we'll have to start a Midway Is Flooded: Part 2 thread.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

We got some rain and thunder this morning (my dog woke me up from a nice sleep). Now it suppose to clear up, and the suppose to sun come out. Then around 4 or 5pm strong-server storms. We are in the greatest risk of the severe storm threat today here in Detroit and Iam 4 hours away from Cedar Point. Actually, they say today is a bad day to have the sun out because it fires up the storms some more. I would love to be a weather chaser.

Last year, a friend of mine actually swam in the Soak City lot after heavy downpours.

No kidding. And dj, if CP could have figured out a way to charge for it, I'm sure they would have. ;)

Well if we get more storms today perhaps it would be a derecho. Not sure though it seems there may be too many clouds preventing the sun from destabalizing the atmosphere. We shall see.

sometimes you don't even need the sun for severe storms. If a warm front and cold front collide (which might happen) we may get the severe storms. They might come today in the later evening hours. If we do get any watches or warnings it won't be until after 4pm.

Well dewpoints are high, There is a warm front moving north through the region now, and a cold front should be sweeping through this evening (late night in Ohio)... Thats when we will see the highest risk of storms...

Sandusky now has a 70% chance of strong storms for this evening so the flooding just might happen again tonight. ;) *** Edited 6/21/2006 8:25:41 PM UTC by Jerreus***

A Tornado Watch has just been issued for the Metro Detroit part of Michigan here until 12 midnight (6/21/06) and lower part of Michigan until 11pm et. (6/21/06). Lots of Tornado's are forming in Michigan, at least 3 or 4 we have had now. Sandusky, I was looking at the maps where that have the watches and warnings and as I was typing this Sandusky does now have a Tornado Watch until 12am (6/21/06). Tornados are forming here in Michigan, so do not rule one out. If one does hit I sure hope people at Cedar Point are safe, as I'm sure they will be.
