New for 2014

Yes, sadly.

Maybe your family's, friends, and co-workers are just "agreeing" with you there, SteveH. Have you noticed any of them nodding and then backing away slowly?

No, actually they value my opinion. Perhaps, it's because they are just better educated than the average fanboy forum poster on this site.

When I suggested our company outing be held at the park the overwhelming response from an employee poll was "we have done that so many times", and our HR manager flat out told us that the budget would not cover it. They ended up doing two events (Tigers Game & Zoo Outing) and still stayed within the same budget dollars.

One example does not a trend make.

Let me see if I understand Steve.

He says people are getting "burned out" (his words) because there aren't enough new things to do. Is that correct?

CP has added Luminosity, Gatekeeper, Lake Erie Eagles, Pipe Scream and, less recently, Peanuts Playground (near the Coliseum, not Camp Snoopy). This is not counting Slingshot, which isn't "added" until it opens (The Flying Turns Rule :)), or the redone Petting Zoo. Nor does it count changing from Pepsi to Coke ;)

People may very well be adding more Zoo trips instead of CP--or they may not. People may be "burned out" after going to CP "so many times" but it's not because of a lack of new attractions

Do they value SteveH's opinions, or do they indulge SteveH's opinions? Or am I over-stepping my bounds as a poorly educated average fanboy poster?

It just seems to me that SteveH is taking a small handful of SteveH-centric anecdotes and making broad assumptions about Cedar Point's group sales business.

Is it possible for a park to get a big coaster 2 years in a row. Look at the last couple of tweets King's Island tweeted.

I don't get this, they just dropped, what, 24 mil for Gatekeeper last year? Even during the coaster wars, a major attraction wasn't installed every year, more like every few years.

I was at the park today and noticed that Iron Dragon has begun to get repainted (same colors, unfortunately), I don't think this has been posted yet so I just wanted to let everyone know.

Didn't really think ID needed new paint. Where was on the track was it getting repainted?

Funny how they are reprinting that with Mantis right next to it potentially having a new color scheme. It's as if it is the next area of the park Cedar Point wants to update.

Maverick00, if you are referring to the brown(ish) color on the bottom of the supports, that has been like that since Blood on the Bayou. It's suppose to blend in with the haunt.

I was walking up the Gemini midway (headed towards Coasters from Dragster) and the supports around the water area looked a lot brighter than the supports that are kinda hidden away headed into the woods.

Maybe they were just polished. ;)
