MrScott you have insider information about "project 2007"? or are you just guessing like the rest of us?

I think he's already told us that he's just guessing (in part 1).

In my guess, Ill say its going to be a dive coaster. We have all herd rumors of the horseshoe / half moon layout of footers in the swan pond, so look at this....

Again, this is just a guess....this could be just a simple thing like a turnaround.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

But, if you notice, while the track is in the half moon shape, the supports, which lead to the footers, are not; atleast not a clear half-moon shape.

Won't Happen.

As much as I'd love to see it happen, there really is a contract between B&M and Busch for dive machines. CP won't be getting them anytime soon.

But I have heard that there are footers being poured over the old pond, and that just screams floorless in my opinion.

Wow, this contract thing is quickly getting to the same status as Magnum is Sinking.

Dear Mr. XXXX:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and for your interest in
our roller
coaster.

Unfortunately, due to the confidentiality of our contract with
Bollinger &
Mabillard we are unable to disclose any information concerning the
contexts...

Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Wasn't it discussed that the contract only regards that specific design of Dive Machine, not all Dive Machines? I cannot see B&M voluntarily restricting themselves from making money.

Furthermore, I am curious what, exactly, you asked them? If you contacted the park, I don't think park is allowed to discuss specific components or designs of certain rides. B&M could have requested that BG not talk about their ride so that competitors cannot duplicate it that easily.

I doubt the water ride theory.

I doubt the coaster theory.

Yes, I think it will be one heck of a water ride

I agree.

I'd like to see a flume similar to Splash Mountain (though probably not as well themed or with such an elaborate story). Will multiple drops (with splashes) all leading up to the big drop.

Exactly, a water and dark ride combination. Put the idea of experiencing the riding mechanisims of Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain. A warehouse structure would be constructed, yet camouflaged with rock similar to the material used on the tunnels of MF and resembling a mountain.

I can picture the old WWL station used as the queing area, before entering the building that houses the ride. Guests who decide to encounter this new attraction will drift thru different pioneer era scenes with a narrated story. Along the journey, there will be sudden drops, possibly in complete darkness. The story could end with the Battle of Gettysburgh. Floating down a river as the North and South exchange gunfire, and finally shooting down a nice long drop to splash at the bottom outside, but not so much to get a rider completely soaked.

All I have to say is that if it is a water ride, it better be a good ride for all the hype it's getting.

WWL's site has great views of the bay/lake. Why would you want to build a warehouse on it? CP did that already on the beach.

Kinzel even said the when asked about WWL going that it's a beautiful peace of property.

please tell me...why do all of you think its going to be a water ride. just because its taking a water rides spot doesnt mean its going to be one. ive said it before and ill say it again. puting so much time and effort into a ride that will only be busy in july and august is a huge waste of money. if they are going to make thi8s much of a thing of it then its going to be more then a water ride/.

I said a warehouse structure would be constructed, yet camouflaged with rock similar to the material used on the tunnels of MF and resembling a mountain. You would not be able to tell it's a regular building with the exterior shaped as a mountain.

Yeah, it's a beautiful peace of property. To build something new on it.

Well, imo water may be involved, it certainly will be around it - but looking at that bulldozer half buried in a hole speaks volumes. Maybe their digging a trench for a log ride as part of the areas redevelopment, or maybe they are gonna be footers for a new 500 footer - lol (sorry, couldn't resist).

Can't wait to hear the reports from this weekend.

"It better be good for all the hype it is getting."

Who is hyping it? The park? They have hinted at some things but is the enthusiasts who are hyping and making all kinds of crazy, pie-in-th-sky type predictions.

As for the vertical drop coaster. I had a chance to get a behind the scenes tour of the coaster at BGT. A member of the planning staff gave the lecture/tour. I asked him about a "contract" and he alluded to the idea that there was an agreement between B&M and BGT that a similar coaster wouldn't be built X number of miles from Tampa. I asked for how long and he didn't say. I asked if it was beyond Florida and he said it covered the "southeast".

Now, I say all of that not because I think CP is getting a vertical drop coaster. I still say it will be a family oriented water ride of some type. Maybe there will be more than one thing. I'm skeptical of that but I guess it is possible.

Just a little update. I went to go look at the skyhawk cam and noticed that the main midway cam isn't up. Mabey they are moving it to the WWL site.

On one of the comments on the blog it says that it is down for maintenance.

Cedar Point is a beautiful park, especially in Frontier Town. People want to see the water and trees not a wall. I'm for anything that will add to the atmosphere to the park.
