OnPoint! July 17th Update

How exciting! Is the pond empty now?

we all know that when they empty the swan pond, water WON'T be involved. why else would they empty it?? :)

i agree with smurf though. i'm LOVING the anticipation. and i don't care who thinks i'm weird for wanting to know. besides, anyone who takes the time to sign up for this site and post about a theme park is just as much of a geek about it. so, that's definitely the pot calling the kettle black.

btw, i forgot to mention that "the little birdie" comment OBVIOUSLY means that this is going to be the new intamin flyer. LOL!!! *** Edited 7/18/2006 1:02:18 AM UTC by halltd***

AphelionAxeMan you are so close - he's my take on your theme.

"A birdie told us" - birds have wings (enough said).

"This is only the beginning" - this ride is going to be HUGE (given the early start), and I suspect one or two rides just may be relocated.

"Different direction" - length instead of height

halltd,

Whose to say they won't refill the pond when they are done working there?

I think sarcasm was included in that post too Mr Scott.

I agree, this ride is going to be huge, and if they are starting construction so early, im starting to wonder if this is the "real" Project 2007 or this is only a cover-up. And didnt T&T say that they werent going to tell us anything else;)

Coming Soon! Star Wars episode 7- The Fallen Hero
episode 8- The Republic in Crisis
episode 9- Victory of the Force

What do u mean a cover up? You don't build footers for a cover up.

There is going to be a huge coaster and a huge new flat ride that no one has seen before.

My theory is still alive!!!! This post tends to help my theory that MEAN STREAK will be demolished and that the current work site is just the beginning of the coaster. I think they could be going for the LONGEST coaster in the world of whatever type of coaster it may be......hmmmmm. It's getting exciting.

Do you think that they would demolish a coaster that they hung a banner on promoting how good it is? I don't think so.

Every one face it that there not going to take down Mean Streak.

It was just voted in the top ten wooden coasters. So it not coming down anytime soon.

yes, mr scott - that was sarcasm. LOL!!

i'm hopeful that pointbuzz has THE first pics of the supports going up. :)

Mean Streak is a huge waste to this park. More people ride Gemini than this piece of junk. It LOOKS incredible, too bad it is SLOW, BORING, PAINFUL, and just a waste of time. I understand that this thing may have some sentimental value to some people, but get over it....it's time for Cedar Point to admit that this coaster was a mistake and replace it with a better one. I'll be on here tooting my horn when this is announced because I'm the only one on here predicting this. Bye Bye meanie

Djcreep, you are so right - just rode El Toro - my god what an AMAZING ride! Mean Streak does look incredible - drop dead gorgeous ride. Replace MS with just as photogenic Intamin woodie(please). Now back on topic - August can't come soon enough.

Okay, I know that it's a different manufacturer, but the supports on the final half roll of X Flight look exactly like some of the supports that have shown up next to Breakers. Next time you're at Geauga Lake, take a look.

Theres got to be more going on that what there telling use

No kidding. English class. Did you go?

I keep focusing on the "this is only the begining" portion....

Keep staring...the image will pop out at you. Keep focusing...

im starting to wonder if this is the "real" Project 2007 or this is only a cover-up.

Im starting to wonder something else, like how many times you claim to have been abducted by aliens. Or perhaps we never really did land on the moon...

My theory is still alive!!!! This post tends to help my theory that MEAN STREAK will be demolished and that the current work site is just the beginning of the coaster.

Im mad because I wasted my alien abducted joke on the last quote. Oh well, just read it again and insert here.

Bye Bye meanie

Bye bye common sense.

Promoter of fog.

Replacing Mean Streak with an Intamin woodie would be awesome, but I'm sure on Pointbuzz lots of people will be like "Poopoo Intamin! Nothing they make works! Blah blah down with Intamin, they suck..."

I could personally go for something Voyage-like, but it'll never happen. I haven't ridden El Toro. But Voyage makes think of what were my favorite two rides. Airtime from Magnum, and out-of-control from The (deceased) Beast.

-everytime I write this post, the board progresses four posts, and it's no longer relevant. LIVE WITH IT for being sort of off topic!

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

You know, now that I think about it, it's not out of the realm of possibility that this coaster could be a Wooden Coaster. The Voyage at Holiday World is a wooden coaster with steel tracks, and some steel structural pieces. I'll also add that it is to me anyway, the best wooden coaster in the country. I know that sounds crazy, but what would you expect from someone who has indeed been abducted by aliens. I just don't want to be like everyone else on here and say things like..."it's going to be a five hundred footer"....or better yet...."it's going to involve water and go backwards." I don't think it will be a 500 footer because that is just ridiculous. I also don't think it will go backwards because of the whole NEW DIRECTION thing. Plenty of coasters go backwards and most of them aren't that fun and are often quite painful. So i will stand behind my original predictions. It will either replace Mean Streak or it will be some sort of STRADDLE coaster in which you will ride a car like a horse. thats all

If it's something extra it could be different track and supports showing up. But if not then vertical constrution.
