Please ban BASKETBALLS!

Like I said before, giving out stuffed animals instead of basketballs will solve the problem.

I don't think older people would like stuffed animals, but I think the younger kids would be more attracted to them.

Did that happen Sunday?

Surprisingly, no. It happened to me at CP a couple of weeks ago.

All the B-ball games, except for the 3-point challenge, were closed at GL on Sunday night. GL's 3 pt. challenge doesn't give away any basketballs except the giant fuzzy ones, which nobody really bounces anyway. (nobody was really winning, either :))

I'm always trying to "accidentally" get my foot under a dribbling basketball. It's kind of a game for me.

If you think CP has it bad with basketballs then go to King's Island
it is far more worse there.

There were kids playing football in Coney Mall at PKI this weekend. So, as I'm dodging the constant "play here!' announcements from games employees, I'm also dodging frickin' footballs. Why do you come to a park to play football?!?!?

Instead of handing the basketball prize winner an inflated basketball, give them a coupon reedeemable at any of the entrances for that prize when the guest exits the park!

The basketball thing is a real problem, I was their on Saturday and 2 kids were playing toss them in the middle of the Millenium Force Midway! They were playing very nicely however the ball would get away from them regularly and travel into the crowd of people in that area, hence the problem.

I can see someone slipping on a ball then sueing cedar fair for failing to keep guests in control. The guest slipping would be in every right to sue Cedar Fair!

Remember the inflatable eight balls and such they gave away at the guessing game. That went by the wayside awful quick when Magnum came around in 1989 and people start playing volleyball in the queue line!

I remember beach balls being tossed around the Maggie cue in '89. I always assumed they were supplied by the op's.

Brandon

I saw inflated footballs yesterday. Those are almost worse.

When I was at the Point on the 10th I was eating my dippin Dots on a bench by TTD, then this kid trys to dribble two basketballs between his legs at once and he lost control of them and hit my dippin dots and they went everywhere!!!! Some people just have no respect at all. :( *** Edited 6/21/2006 6:21:06 PM UTC by Jerreus***

You should have taken one of the balls, and allow him to buy it back for the price of a large Dippin' Dots.

Brandon

^ lol I should have. :)

Uggh. I hate seeing all these people walking around the midways bouncing the b-balls and trying to act all cool, then they end up hitting someone with the ball. Don't give them to them inflated, display inflated ones, but give them to them deflated.

Rob, I'm like you, the day someone hits me with a basketball is when a) the ball goes into an employees only area, or b) I request to the park, rather firmly, to give deflated basketballs as the prize.

As for beachballs in queues, well, I'll just remain silent. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

The basketballs are very annoying and they are a problem, is Cedar Point willing to risk losing the money that the basketballs draw to the game. My guess is no! I guarantee you this, if something happens to me with some idioit bouncing the balls around I will take action into my own hands, especially seeing that Cedar Point is not doing anything about it!

Maybe if they gave out prizes like at the guessing game? Then people would have a wide variety and there would be no more people annoying us with basketballs! :) *** Edited 6/21/2006 8:29:08 PM UTC by Jerreus***

Like I've said before, the bouncing sound doesn't bother me at all. It's when they start showing off with them that it really sucks.

My pet peeve was when people would poorly attempt to hide their basketball underneath their shirt trying to mask it as a perfectly round gut.

I'm gonna be honest, this is one of the most ridiculous threads I have read on here for a long time. This is the ultimate playing enthusiast. Complaining about what the park gives out as prizes for games? I mean come on, their not talking about giving out guns, it's basketballs, little round things with air in it. Its not the basketball thats causing problems, its the groups of kids. If you take these basketballs away, didn't it occur to anyone that these kids wouldn't be screwing around on the midway anymore, and coming up with even more annoying things to do. This is right up there with some of the Disney enthusiasts. OMGGG!!!! Some kids basketball hit me as I was walking!!!111!!! Im gonna have to sue CP!!!! Im never goin back again!!!!!!!!!!

No joke there. I've seen them argue about light poles being moved in the park.

And it isn't just us enthusiasts that don't like these kids trying to act cool that end up hitting people with the balls. I've talked with plenty of the other guests around me and several don't like it either.
