positives of Maverick

Im a new poster here, but got tired of the "well Maverick isnt a record breaker, so its gonna suck".....and yes, it may not be a record breaker, but as has been said, thats not what CP needed right now....

some positives of Maverick:

-95 degree drop

-first looping coaster in how long

-still exciting, but not to intimidating to most people (could be a bad thing cause more people will wanna ride....lol)

-low to the groun, which gives some great effects

-is actually gonna be themed, and should be pretty good

-being low to the ground still leaves room for another coaster in the future to go above, and intertwine with Maverick......

just my thoughts....

Positives: Maverick.

As I heard somewhere -"it's gonna kick ass."

Positives: Its a new coaster. :)

I think it has a lot of great features. I love the theming. It will be a nice addition to the lonely Frountier Land. I like the twist and turns, 95 degree drop.

First Year: 1985
First Roller Coaster: Blue Streak
Favorite Coaster: Wicked Twister

Listen, this is cedar point were talking about. If they built something like the iron dragon I would still be happy. That would just mean there will be somthing big next year. This ride is going to be fantastic. Okay?

I think Maverick has a lot of positives to it, so I am not going to list them all. But the best part of the ride is going to be the heartline roll after the turnaround over the pond.

Agreed, I love those!!!

I love how close to the ground that heartline roll is, you just might get dirt in your hair it looks that close(LOL).

In the video by the heartline roll it looks like there is awater fall of some kind...perhaps you would get mud in your hair lol...

There is nothing quite like becoming a human windshield on Millennium Force

I believe it will bring more people to the back of the park. Skyhawk seemed to do that with the help of construction. More activity in an area that looked dead to me.

The positives of Maverick never end. In addition to what people have already said, how about those 8 airtime hills! Or the 10 banked turns!

Maverick is a very cool, imaginative design, with some really great elements. I'm extremely excited about this ride, and if you rate coasters by how fun they are, rather than the height or speed of the ride, I think Maverick could very well be a number one rated ride.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

How about the twisted horseshoe turn? That looks like it'll be a fun element to hit.

^ - Are you saying CP with 5 rides in the top 15 in the 07 Golden Tickets?

The fact that dragster is a better experiance than Kingda Krap proves records ar'nt everything, Maveric looks like cracking fun in the same way as wicked twister is just damn good fun :)

The fact that in 2003 (and still) there were at least 5 coasters better than TTD (just at CP) proved that records aren't everything. I didn't need to wait 2 years to find that out.

Arguing with a coaster enthusiast is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while, you realize the pig enjoys it.

I will be interested in the Horshshoe roll, and the heartline roll. I've never been on a coaster with those 2 elements. Great Job Cedar Point!

Isn't a heartline roll the same as a 0g roll?

^^no one has ;)

I thought the heartline roll was the affect of "G's" on the heart, rather than the base of the body (meaning the seat of the train) ? wouldn't that be on all coasters with g force?

A zero-g roll is what is on raptor, if you were to draw a line following the heart-line, it would look like an airtime hill. So basicly a zero-g roll is an airtime hill that you spin around 360degrees. A heartline roll, as seen in Maverick, you will not feel weightless. You will experiance 1g throughout the element.
