possible support sighting

Well I don't like to start rumors without knowing for a fact they are true, and don't want everyone getting upset if I turn out to be wrong but here it goes. I was driving today north on I-69 here in Fort Wayne, IN and I saw a semi-truck with what looked to be gray roller coaster supports on the bed of it. I had to look a couple times to make sure, but i'm pretty sure they were coaster supports.

Now I know this brings up some issues, like why are they coming up I69 rather than 75, and also Fort Wayne is 3 hours from CP, so they could not necissarily be going there.

Like I said I don't want to start a firestorm, I'm just reporting what I thought I saw. I'm sorry I didn't have a camera with me at the time and was unable to get pics. (FYI Jeff, if you know that the supports aren't gray you can close this thread)

First of all, IF they were coaster supports coming up I-69, they could be going a number of directions once they reached the Toll Road... Towards CP is an option, but towards Chicago is also an option...

And you never know... Maybe Fun Spot is installing a gigacoaster ;)

If it's not for Cedar Point, hopefully it's for Michigan's Adventure. Please...Please...

something intersting I thought of as well if it is for CP. They repainted Iron dragon's supports 2 years ago from gray to yellow. Maybe that is when they decided to have '07 ride be red and gray, and didn't want 2 red and gray roller coasters ( but I guess it was ok to have 2 red and yellow coasters) Just a thought?

I really do highly doubt it was for CP... I dont know of any reason that it would be coming up I-69.

I've been wrong before...

I am sure that project 2007 was planned for and have been in the works longer than just two years. I think that this goes further back even more than the removal of Swan Boats. I think it would take more than 5-6 years to get from the drawing table (or in Kinzel's dream) to the ribbon cutting.

Well, considering all of the track has come in sealed containers, I doubt it is for Cedar Point. *** Edited 5/31/2006 1:44:19 AM UTC by bholcomb***

Well considering I've been on this site for 4 years and never have made up a rumor, I don't think its quite fair to say that i'm BSing. Like I said I'm not even 100% sure they are coaster supports, and if they were there is no way of knowing if they are even for CP. I just wanted to report what I saw. I may be wrong, but wrong and BS are not the same

Fair enough.

I believe you, and for those who don't believe him... Why. Is it not possible to see supports down the road. Or are you guys just not believing because it seems to early for them to show up. If that's the case... You shouldn't believe that there are red pieces of track by Breakers Express because it is so early.

I doubt they are for MiAdv. They already have their new ride.

Unless it's for next year...

Sorry, That's what I meant.

^^I did not know pigs were flying and MiA was getting a new coaster!

PLEASE NOTE: Intamin ships everything from switzerland, they come through the port of new york in heavy corrugated containers which are placed on a truck and driven to Sandusky. They are then are opened and lifted out of the trailer. They are NOT carried by flatbed. Those were 100% not the supports for the ride that you saw.

Haven't we seen enough Intamins at the park to know that by now?

in that case i'm wrong and ignore everything that has been said

How sure are you that it was supports than, because it could be going somewhere else (MIA please) since it is not for Cedar Point.

If you think MiA is getting a big steel coaster any time soon, dream on.

If the past is any indication, the parts for the new ride will come intermodal through Detroit in shipping containers. You won't see them.

At least people's hopes were only raised for about two hours... And Agent Putz stops another false rumor in its tracks!

Thanks anyway cedarpointfreak =) I wonder where those things are headed, if they are indeed coaster supports. Anyone bets as to what color P:2007's supports will be? I sure hope it's not yellow, lol. I think orange would be fun, or maybe light blue.
